Hiya AG...always glad to see you.
Don’t be a stranger.
You are right on the money as usual, bray. Excellent analysis!
I’ll wait to see if he survives the attacks. I was solidly behind Cain and that blew up in my face.
And Perry is really so much more conservative than the rest. Instead of Washington politics he wants to make Washingto as inconsequential as possible. I agree, get those power-broking back-stabbing politicians away from me.
Thanks for thread AB.
Can no one explain the ‘payroll tax cut’ de-funds Social Security, which is already pilfered and broke?
I will circle around Newt and hug his chubby little body if it becomes clear (and I hope it doesn’t) that Perry can’t make it.
This is why I don’t trash Newt (at least not anymore).
If not Perry, then Newt. (sob)
That being my belief (as backed by history), the creation of a Third Party might be the only way Conservatives would ever be represented.
I know full well the argument against a Third Party, but if the direction of the Republican Party continues to be a race to the Left, how are we ever going to be represented?
While coach of the (NBA) Lakers, Pat Riley was quoted in regards to changing up the entire team in the off season in order to become a contender once again, (paraphrasing) “We have to decide if we're keeping the old car or getting a new one”. I believe that line applies to Conservative's current situation. Do we remain members of a political party which refuses to represent us (or even like us) or do we form a major new party? Granted, the likelihood of being victorious in 2012 would be slim (perhaps not as slim as a Moderate Republican nominee), but what about elections in 2014 and 2016?
Lord knows I don't want another 4 years of the Obama agenda. But, I also don't want a similar agenda disguised under a different name.
Ba0ney boy doing his monologue of how wonderful big govt.is.Wonder if he every got accused of anything like zero did?

Shockingly, Bill Kristol seems to have gotten it right this morning when he said "the voters do seem to be resisting being led around this year.". He's one of the few Beltway pundits that appears to have noticed.
Maybe his GPS had a software glitch and accidentally routed him outside of I-495 on one of his drives.
He also said that his instincts tell him that Gingrich has weathered the onslaught of attacks that have been heaped upon him and that he remains stronger than the people in Washington think he is.
I like Perry a lot, but he will not be able to articulate Conservatism well enough to win. I wish he could since Texas is a great model, but Newt has won the debates fair and square. He has an amazing mind and can educate this Country of what capitalism and freedom are.
The Bible is full of fallen leaders as is history. Besides, it would stick it to old media.
Merry Christmas
Thanks for the information. Haley has enough on her plate. Her endorsement appears to be from loyalty, much as Palin’s of McCain’s was.
Here in KCMO at 9 AM it’s a choice between MTP and FNS. I chose MTP, so you know it’s bad (FNS re-airs at 1 pm and 1 am :-)
Look forward to Face the Nation either online or at 1 am. Newt can really handle these media Leftists!
The Republican Party has been taken over by the RINOS. We can kick them out. It wont be pretty, won't be quick. But, it can be done and we are doing it.
I’ll guess Bachmann does better in Iowa, although Santorum may too, Bachmann is more likely being she has the most perceived TEA Party and Conservative credentials, and everyone knows the polls are just trying to fool the Republican masses into the media/establishment candidate.
Mitt is bombing in this interview. He comes across as a career politician and says nothing about anything. He has no core beliefs and will be exposed by the liberal attack machine.
Exactly right on all counts.
But the fix is in for Mittens now and in the coming few months we will see all rivals be “persuaded” into dropping out, lest their futures in the family, um, the party be cut very short.
Perry, Santorum, Bachmann and Huntsman all understand this now and are probably hoping to become the 2016 heir apparent, or, the “made man” (as Romney is now).
I guess Newt might try to hang in there because I doubt he cares about a future in the party. This is his Rubicon.
But that’s it. Romney is the de facto nominee and like Bray almost says he can’t win. It’s the great tradition of McCain, Dole, Ford, ugh.
Four more Obama years? Just add Romney.
Why won't one Republican mention the fact that GWB wanted to place the same 2% of FICA collection into voluntary private funds for younger wage earners, and the DC world went into fainting spells? I keep living in hope that one candidate will take it to Obama and Wasserman/Shultz et al. What a silly dream. They both lie about the time of day, so they are not fazed by any statement of reality.
Exactly. "Liberal" is the native language of the media.
Conservatives need a candidate that can articulate our case in a clear and understandable way.
Gingrich fits that to a tee.
Bachmann was there every step of the way to oppose TARP, Stimulus, and Democrat Health Care. Bachmann also understands what it will take legislatively to get rid of Democrat Health Care, something the other candidates haven’t made me so confident about.
Perry articulates fine in ads. And in interviews, and in the last few debates.
Debate skills are over-hyped. I remind you that everyone thought Gore won the debates against Bush, but he was so obnoxious it got Bush more voters.
Plus I don’t think Obama WILL debate. He will make up a bunch of reasons and delay, and the press won’t call him on it. So you need someone who has a good ground team and a damn good ad staff, and that would be Perry.
“Can no one explain the payroll tax cut de-funds Social Security, which is already pilfered and broke?”
I agree with your question, Son. I don’t have an answer. Everytime I think about the “payroll taxcut”, I shake my head and wonder just how stupid the legislature is.
Also, I haven’t heard one voice say the “payroll taxcut” is a taxcut for the rich. They get more in their paychecks, too.
It’s all about the percentages, isn’t it? No need to answer that question, because I know what your/others’ answers are.
