Tebow to suspended students: Obey rules
Fox Sports ^ | 12/17/11

"You have to respect the position of authority and people that God's put as authority over you," Tebow said. "So that's part of it and just finding the right place and the right time to do things is part of it, too. But I think it does show courage from the kids, standing out and doing that, and some boldness."

That’s a good wish but the answer to the three wishes thing is that with the first wish I become the person that grants wishes. From that point on things are golden...

Respect authority until it shoves you in an oven, then take its head off.

God’s authority is handed down to the State. So, yes, the State. But we are expected to point out where the State falls short and to correct it if we can.

“For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. Romans 13:1-2”
I for one am glad our founding fathers thought otherwise of Paul’s instructions.

The rural public schools still have a chance. The urban/suburban public schools are cesspools of pop culture indoctrination, not education.

It seems to me that Tebow qualified his statement. I don't think he would support a tyrannical government. Overall I think it's a well balanced statement.

To my thinking, the public schools are beyond the point of wanting to try to figure out which ones to save.

They literally can't, even if they want to.

If you'll look at my posting history, you'll notice a huge gap this year. I became very ill, and was facing not being able to homeschool our youngest in order to recover. The first of our kids who wouldn't have been homeschooled. We were very sad.

The schools here didn't seem terrible, so we were upset, but thought we'd be ok. So close to the school year starting, no vacancies in any private schools, and we felt that we had no other choice.

We were not ok. Right off the bat, our youngest tested out of math. Several grade levels beyond the actual grade.

When we went to the school, we were told that they don't skip grades anymore unless the child has been in school for a few weeks to show proficiency (lie #1).

Then we were told that, no, they didn't mean a "few weeks", that the year would have to be completed and that they'd consider placement next year (lie #2). And we were told that there was nothing to show us or to put in writing about the matter (lie #3).

Then we were told that she couldn't "just" advance in math, because it wasn't fair to the other kids. This was not a lie, it's just sick. Can't have my kid making the others feel bad.

It came to a head when a teacher took pity a day or two before school started. She told us that (as to lie #1, 2, & 3) they can move kids up, but they don't, because they need bright kids to raise the test scores for NCLB. It is now unofficial policy to never move children up. They really don't care if your kid is special. All parents think their kids are special. They aren't, so forget it. Believe it or not, I took what she said as the most wonderful blessing - a kindness. She really did help, even if she was a bit blunt. The nicest part of the whole experience, frankly.

We thought and prayed, and pulled her out before the first day. We scrambled, but we managed to start homeschooling two days later. She's doing fine, she's more advanced that we first thought, and has yet to meet a math problem she couldn't tackle.

I've had a difficult time of it physically, but get better ever day. We lost an older family member in October, and that was hard, but we keep our eyes on what is important and that helps.

I do not "get" sending kids to a place where they are a number and not human. If it's the last thing I do, I will do the right thing.

Do a search for "No Child Left Behind" + Gifted if you want to see what schools are doing to smart kids in the name of test scores. It is frightening.

All public schools in every town and all each and every public school teacher are instruments of the DEVIL!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Well?...Here are a few questions to answer, and then decide if they are the instruments of the devil.

Are all government owned and run K-12 schools secularly godless in their worldview? Is there even one exception of a government owned and run K-12 school in the United States that is God-centered in the fundamental worldview through which everything is taught?

Are all government owned and run K-12 schools a socialist and single payer entitlement? Again, please send a link to an exception. Do children risk becoming comfortable with taking money from their neighbor for this socialist service? Are they taught that it is their right to take money from their neighbor for this tuition-free social service? Well! Gee! If government can give them socialist schooling, why not use that government power to get **lots** of socialist goodies!

Is anyone holding a gun to the head of a government teacher as they **willingly** accept a job that teaches children to think and reason godlessly? Of course the children think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate within the classroom, read the texts, and complete assignments. How could it be otherwise?

Is anyone holding a gun to any government teacher as they **willingly** accept a job that they **know** will result in money being sent to the NEA with its abominable agenda?

Where are the mass marches of teachers and their protests when children are sexually kissing their parents, or homosexual indoctrination is mandated in the classroom? ( crickets)

Recently, I have decided to put all government socialist K-12 school teachers on my “No-friend” list. They are either too evil, too stupid, or too much of a Useful Idiot to be my friend. They now join all Democrats on this list that have been there since the Florida 2000 election recount.

If government teachers really loved kids ( as they say they do) they would be working to shut these socialist, single payer, schooling entitlements down. They would be rescuing children from these pits of moral depravity and ignorance. That's how I see it.

The rural public schools still have a chance.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I live in a rural community in one of the reddest counties in the nation. ALL of the government schools in my county are utterly and completely GODLESS in their worldview! All of the government schools in my county are a socialist entitlement.

1) The children **will** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the classroom. How could be otherwise? Seriously. This is a serious question. How could it be otherwise?

2) The children risk learning to be comfortable with socialism. They are taught by their socialist teachers that they have a **right** to wealth of others just so they can have tuition free schooling! Well! Gee! If government and its threat of police action can take money from a neighbor for tuition-free socialist schooling, why not use that power for **lots** of socialist yummies? ( Franklin D. Roosevelt was an accident. He was the result of one to three generations of children being made to feel comfortable with socialism in socialist government schools!)

3)All of the government schools in my county establish the religious worldview of godless secular humanism and force citizens ( under the threat of armed police action) to pay for this religious abomination!

4) There are no private schools in my county because our county and state are running a price-fixed, monopoly, cartel! If private CEOs tried this they would soon be in prison! The only other option is homeschooling. If this is not possible, the child and parents will face armed police action if they refuse to cooperate with the government schools functionaries.

5) Finally.... Our socialist schools are the single largest employer in the county. No other business comes even close in the number of employees, payroll, or capital investment in buildings. These armies of socialist workers go to the polls and every time the vote to make sure their sinecures remain intact.

Government schools in my county are disgusting. ( And...The they look like minimum security prisons, too!)

( Not proof read)

I know it's been a while but don't remember having to take that oath in high school.

This is a personal insult. When were you awarded a Ph.D. in Armchair Psychology? ( Just wondering.)

And...Gee! Is it possible that you or someone close in your family is a government teacher? Hm?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Since we are soooooo “seriously” “deranged” perhaps you can help us separate the forrest from the trees. Why don't you start with the simple questions I presented in my post #31?

Since I and the others on this thread are so “seriously” deranged, then these basic questions should be simple for you. After all you are so well grounded in reality and we are not.

Oh, I just love personal attacks. I AM a Christian and I still question whether we are supposed to teach our children that the state is right in all things. To do otherwise would mean the Founding Fathers got it all wrong.
