The head of the printers and mailers unions at the New York Times blasted the $4.5 million “golden parachute” outgoing CEO Janet Robinson will get to consult for the company while workers shoulder cutbacks and wage freezes.

“The Times likes to slam CEO excess until they are the ones doing it,” said Arthur Delanni, president of the Allied Printing Trades Council of New York and of the New York Mailers Union Local 6, both of which are within the Communications Workers of America.

The Mexican loan shark Carlos Slim is calling the shots over there now and told Pinch to fire the CEO and hire a “digital” CEO who will cut costs at the print edition.

That means that there will be massive layoffs next year as the high-priced writers like Maureen Dowd are replaced with bloggers who will work for peanuts.

Pinch is tired of being poor and wants to stop paying all those high salaries to the Maureen Dowd’s of the the world.

I remember the left-wing Washington Post some 30 years ago, so supportive of unions and union causes, ran the printers union off the premises when they dared to strike in response to the Post printing the paper at non-union shops in secret locations. Another case of “do as I say, but not with my money”.

Since the union folks at nyt hate contract agreements so much, they shouldn't mind if their own contract with nyt is suspended.

Heh, heh, don’t worry guys, the Times will still continue to condemn salary inequities for every other corporation.

Delanni obviously doesn’t know the rules his lords and masters have laid down for him and everyone else in the kingdom, regarding laws/principles and their automatic exemptions.
