LIMA (Reuters) - Lori Berenson, a New Yorker who spent 15 years in Peruvian prisons for aiding Marxist insurgents, will visit the United States as early as this weekend for the first time since her 1995 arrest, officials and her family said on Friday.
Berenson, 42, the mother of a 2-year-old boy, was paroled last year after serving most of a 20-year sentence. At the time of her release, Peru's government resisted calls to commute the rest of her sentence so she could return permanently to the United States. Peruvian officials say she must return to Lima by January 11.
She went to Lima's airport late on Friday to catch a flight but arrived too late and will have to change her ticket, RPP radio said.
Berenson's father, Mark, said he was grateful Peruvian authorities gave her permission to travel and that she would return to Peru because she did not want to break the law.
"I'm glad she has a chance to be here for my 70th birthday," Mark Berenson told Reuters in New York. "I'm looking forward to being with my grandson and playing with him."

Jews invented the idea that there is something wrong with the world the way it is. When a Jew is persuaded that Torah is not the answer, s/he falls prey to every kooky theory and activity that promises “change”. It’s not just socialism. Jews are over-represented in almost every cult too.

The NYT likes to pretend she’s sort of a harmless Robin Hood figure. She’s not.
She wasn't jailed for "Marxism", she was jailed for aiding and abetting multiple murders. What seemed like a lark for the spoilt progeny of the upper west side, was deeply resented by the poor people of Peru, who viewed her as an interloper sympathetic to would-be tyrants and real life murders. She's just lucky not to have been RachelCorried.
Let me guess what will happen next.
1) She will either abandon her terrorist lawyer husband and child, or try to bring them to the US and get them citizenship. Which the Obama administration would likely give them.
2) She will go on the radical leftist “Hate America” lecture circuit and ghostwritten book deal, which will be enough for her to make some scratch. Then she will get some job at a Soros funded organization, where she won’t even have to show up, but press releases will be made on her behalf. After that, maybe guest appearances on lefty talk shows.
Since nobody gives a crap about her ideological views, she’ll spend her time talking about her suffering and persecution, and saying how wonderful the Democrat party agenda is and how awful Republicans and conservatives are.
3) As long as she does what she is told, she will become a minor staple. But if she goes on a wild hair, she will become a non-person like Cindy Sheehan.
Yeah, like she’s really returning back there.
Nah, obama will appoint her as ambassador to Peru.

I don’t know that she has a husband - there’s an attorney mentioned that she has a child with but the name sounds more female than male.....are we surprised?
