RUSH: Well, I knew that this was coming, but I would have never guessed where it's coming from. ... I'm not disappointed that it's coming from where it's coming from. I'm just a little surprised. I knew it was coming. Jealousy of Tim Tebow has surfaced in the National Football League. Brian, you're a big football aficionado. Tell me which quarterback has just expressed frustration and jealousy. You don't know yet, do you? So take a wild guess. Which quarterback has expressed frustration and jealousy over the coverage that Tebow is getting? (interruption) No. Not Aaron Rodgers. Not Tony Romo. (Don't worry, Snerdley.) Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens -- and, frankly, as a Steelers fan, this is not disappointing to me.
"[A] Tebow backlash has emerged." This is Mike Florio from his blog, pro football talk at NBC. "'I mean, look at Tim Tebow,' Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco told [a radio station] in Baltimore, via NFL.com. 'I like Tim, but you have a tendency to want to -- I don't want to see Tim do bad -- but look what happens after he wins a football game. If you watched SportsCenter today, it was Tim Tebow then something else, Tim Tebow then something else, and Tim Tebow then something else. When we beat the Steelers, were we on TV? No. I couldn't even find a Baltimore Ravens highlight. I think that's kinda the way it is around Baltimore. We don't always get our respect but you gotta deal with it and go out there every week and just win football games.'
"Flacco believes the Ravens are 'disrespected' by the national media. 'The bottom line is we don't need a lot of help because we have a great fan base every week and we win football games,' Flacco said," and we're sick and tired of seeing Tebow everywhere! He didn't say that, but it's implied here. "'We're not a losing football team that needs to be out there in the media and be talked up like we are all-world. We are.'" This... (snorts) I am stunned. I am stunned. I can't think of the last time something like this has happened. Look, I know these guys feel this stuff. I know in the privacy of the locker room and at home they're saying, "Tebow? For crying out loud, he's a rookie! Look at what I'm doing. I'm lighting it up! Why ain't I getting coverage?" but you never go public and whine about it.
Ooh, I gotta... I don't know. Speaking of Tebow, I wonder if Flacco was watching the debate last night and heard Rick Perry. Audio sound bite number seven:
PERRY: I'm getting to where I like these debates. As a matter of fact, I hope Obama and I debate a lot -- and I'll get there early, and we will get it on and we will talk about our differences, which are great. There are a lot of folks that said Tim Tebow, uh, wasn't gonna be, uh, a very good NFL quarterback. There are people that stood up and said, "Well, he doesn't have the right flowing mechanisms," or, "He doesn't... You know, he's not playing the game right," and, you know, he -- two national championships. That looked pretty good. We were the national champions in job creation back in Texas but I'm all ready for the next level. Let me tell you, I hope that I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa Caucuses.
RUSH: "I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa Caucuses." He did not say, "I am the Joe Flacco of the Iowa Caucuses." "I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa Caucuses." Now, I don't know whether Flacco was watching the debate last night. Can you imagine if he was? (interruption) My first reaction when he said that? My first reaction when I saw Rick Perry say he wanted to be the Tim Tebow, I thought it was an attempt to create linkage between something that's very hot and popular right now -- and I thought it's a little bit of a stretch. Little bit of a stretch. But you have to remember, Perry makes me laugh in a good way. I thought Perry was alive last night. Perry was on fire. He has, I think, a charismatic personality.
He has a great smile. In fact, there was one time the camera caught him frowning last night, and it was the first time I've really ever seen him frown. I'm sure that he frowns more than I've seen and the camera hasn't been on him when he's do, but it stood out because he was frowning. I don't remember what the question was, but normally he's got this big wide grin, and looks like even when he gets tongue-tied he's having a great time up there. But he didn't get tongue-tied. Here's Rick Perry on Fast and Furious. Audio sound bite number eight. The question was from Megyn Kelly: "Are you and other Republicans 'politicizing' the issue as Attorney General Holder claims?"
PERRY: If I'm the president of the United States, and I find out that there is an operation like Fast and Furious and my attorney general didn't know about it, I would have him resign immediately. The president of the United States comes to El Paso, Texas, yearly this year and proclaims that the border of Texas and Mexico -- the US border with Mexico -- is safer than it's ever been. Well, let me tell you: I've been dealing with this issue for 11 years. I've sent Texas Ranger recon teams there. Our law enforcement men and women face fire from across the border or in the US side from these drug cartels. It is not safe there. Our country is in jeopardy.
RUSH: Yep. He was on last night. He was really on. Santorum came back on , "I wouldn't wait for my attorney general to resign. If I find out he knew about Fast and Furious, I'd fire him," which was good because Holder's excuse is, "I didn't know." Wa...? You're attorney general, you run the Justice Department, that's what the ATF is. What do you mean you didn't know? So I mean these guys, these guys were on.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
He was solid last night, best debate yet.
GO RAVENS!
I thought that was a pretty dumb line.
Lose Ravens!
Go Packers
>>I guess you’re not a Tebow supporter?
>>Go Packers
I’m originally from the Baltimore area and an English teacher - so, yeah, the Ravens.
I do love watching Tebow scare the **** out of the other team when 4th quarter and 2:00 roll around. The guy is going to be dynamite in a couple of years.
So did I
Just as dumb as his Texas Handshake and Marriage Vows ploy in the other debate
Better not tread where angels fear to go Mr. Joe. Ravens not champs just yet. Go Tebow....
And go NY Jets.
“Well, he doesn’t have the right flowing mechanisms”
Pretty sure none of Tebows’ critics have said that.
A real knee slapper
It was cringeworthy. I’d expect that from some dweeb running for class president in middle school.
Denver coaches are amazed how hard Tebow works at developing skills and the dedication he shows. The young man is a winner and Denver is fortunate to have him. Plus he will only improve and get better. Good on him and scrooge his jealous detractors.
I hope Barry 0bummer will be the Jimmy Carter of the 2012 general election.
I turned it off when Limbaugh started in on this subject, as I do whenever he starts up with the mind-numbingly dull iPhone idiocy too. And the ice tea thing is already old.
Besides, Rush is a Steelers whore and agenda driven and would say anything bad about any Ravens player whether it had any origin in reality or not.
What Flacco said is entirely blown out of proportion, not just by Rush but by the entire lamestream sports media that Rush purports to despise. Plus, Rush proved Flacco’s point, didn’t he.
I’ve long been a Tebow fan but you can clearly see the lamers are building him up (while he’s on a roll) so they can just rip him to shreds when the time comes. Rush happily citing Mike Florio, a leftie lawyer and NBC shill is really just aid to the cause. You know that when the time comes for the lamers to turn on Tebow a hack like Florio will be leading the charge.
Rush is now inadvertently in league with them.
Go Ravens.
I wonder if Perry actually said: “the right thowing mechanisms,” “thow” being Southern for throw.
That's a typo, I heard Perry say, "...he doesn't have the right throwing mechanisms".
It was cringeworthy. Id expect that from some dweeb running for class president in middle school.

I’m not a Perry supporter but I thought it was a good analogy. BTW, I’m a Houston Texans fan, but, I love Tim Tebow.
