I am being realistic. Keep in mind that McCain came in a distant fourth place in Iowa four years ago. And Romney captured only 32% of the New Hampshire vote even though he was governor of a neighboring state. And when the focus turned south, Romney managed to capture only 15% of the South Carolina vote. Even in Florida where he dumped a boatload of money filling up the airwaves with ads, he managed only 30% of the vote.
You are naive if you think that Southerners, Californians, New Yorkers, and Missourians are going to turn out and vote for Romney simply because he does well in Iowa or New Hampshire. Again, Romney is NOT going to be the nominee. His negatives are too high. There is a large cadre of voters who have Mitt Romney listed dead last on their list of possible candidates.

I'm looking forward to the real debate.
The one between Newt and the Teleprompter of the United States.

“Cain was my guy. I even sent him money - something I had never done before for a presidential candidate.
I am sickened that he was taken out. I am not completely sure who took him out - Obama or our own establishment hacks.”
Probably both, iceskater. I’m pretty bummed myself.
Although I think Cain could have improved in the area of PR. He needed better damage control. I think if he had stayed in, there might have been another chance (esp. with Newt folding again). Oh well. My guy was Fred Thompson last year so I am used to being disappointed during primaries :(
