WESTFORD (CBS) Westford school officials are getting tough on classroom holiday parties.
Theyre banning sugary snacks and sweetened beverages from the celebrations this year.
Students are being told to leave the Christmas cookies, cakes, candy bars, and soda at home and to bring fruits, unsweetened juices, popcorn and raisins instead.
Superintendent Everett Olsen says the ban on holiday sweets has nothing to do with being politically correct, rather, his motive is simply promoting a healthy lifestyle.
We arent trying to take the Christmas out of Christmas. Were not trying to take the enjoyment out of childrens lives. Were just trying to act responsible, he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030s Mike Macklin.
The schools goal is to avoid the types of sweets that pile on empty calories and contribute to childhood obesity.
School officials say theyre also hoping to protect the growing number of children with severe food allergies.
The new policy comes as schools across Massachusetts get set to implement stricter state-mandated food policies aimed at reducing child obesity.

that can be expensive..i’m all for it but for a time i had
3 in private schools
and 2 in private colleges
over 100,000 per year total
i could not do that now in this economy
which is why we moved to a more conservative yet imperfect still rural county
but here’s a newsflash:
private church schools can be PC and intolerable in ways too
learned that too...

LIARS!!! Why not just the have an assembly and tell all the kids that Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Cupid Kid, and the Tooth Fairy were all killed in a alcohol involved accident on the local interstate. The end justifies the means.

I remember when I was growing up in daBronx, this time of year the el that carries the #2 trains over White Plains Rd would be adorned with Christmas lights, wreaths, Menorahs, etc. This was also done on other sections of the subway system throughout NYC. Just imagine the uproar if the MTA were to allow such a blatant "governmental sponsorship of religion" today! Also, here's a dirty little secret, us gubmint workers not only get paid for Christmas, but unlike other holidays were we get 2X base pay for working those days, anyone who works on Christmas day gets 2.5X base pay. I dare the ACLU and any atheists to file court breifs to end this practice. I DOUBLE DOG dare them!

Gee Whiz, we had candy and cookies and pop and all that at the holidays. It was the rest of the year we didn't live on them...

They declared war on culture. But in return we got more laws than even a lawyer can shake a stick at. And the same goes for taxes. How many pages long is the tax code?
Fast and dirty Google search
http://www.trygve.com/taxcode.html
According to the US Government Printing Office, it’s 13,458 pages in total. The full text of Title 26 of the United States Code (the part written by Congress—available for an additional $179) is a mere 3,387 printed pages, bringing the adjusted gross page count to 16,845.
Everybody’s a criminal! And for all that money forked over, heaven help the kid who brings his mama’s home-baked cookies to school!

Since I wear green pajamas with velcro patches, and tan combat boots to work, I get paid the same, regardless.

If you are still sending your kids to the public indoctorination center don’t be suprised they come back as liberal idiots. And please don’t tell me that your public school is different. It isn’t, you just don’t see all the liberal crap unless you go behind the doors every day.
