SIOUX CITY -- On the eve of Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Sioux City, frontrunner Newt Gingrich picked up an endorsement from former hometown congressman Fred Grandy.
"Quite honestly, he is the only guy that I see who is offering real leadership positions on these critical issues, whether they're talking about foreign policy, or economic policy or cultural policy," Grandy told the Sioux City Journal in an exclusive interview Wednesday.

I like Brian Wilson and Mary Katherine Ham, but I miss Fred on the Morning Majority. (WMAL 630). He got a raw deal. Big time.

Yeah, Grandy was ousted by Farid Suleman of Citadel, just like how Melanie Morgan and Lee Rodgers were eventually fired by Suleman, too.
I liked Brian Wilson when he was a back-up radio host for KSFO many years ago. He always did his shows from the east coast, even though he was filling in for west coast hosts.

I endorse you baby.

In all seriousness, Fred Grandy is still a pretty popular guy in Iowa. This may not help Gingrich a whole helleva lot but it certainly isn’t going to hurt him any.

Now, if Newt can just get Congressman Cooter's endorsement:

Unfortunately, I think Ol' Cooter was a RAT.

That’s good to know. I’ve always liked Grandy as a congressman. It was a loss when he left Congress.
