Maybe this is how the residents of Bethlehem felt.
Coloradans even the non-football fans are as shocked and awed as anyone by the miracle occurring in their own backyard with the rise of Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos quarterback and quite possibly the most famous Christian bachelor to walk the Earth in the past 2,000 years.
The Mile-High Messiah just one of the many nicknames hes acquired since arriving here last year has led the citys flagging NFL franchise on an improbable 6-1 run this season. In the process, hes halted the teams slide into midsize-market mediocrity and placed the Mountain Time zone at the center of the media universe.
I think its been huge. Hes the talk of the NFL, said Mohammed Suleiman, who runs a new pro-Tebow message every Monday on the electronic sign outside the headquarters of Multiline International Imports in Denver. Every week, they talk about him on the news and ESPN. Just to be a part of that here in Colorado is a great feelin

I wasn’t a fan when he was at Florida, but after he had over 500 yards rushing and passing in his last college game, and all the experts said he couldn’t play in the NFL I became a fan. His character helps too, of course.
I coudln’t care less about the Broncos or the ridiculous NFL with all their pansifying the game, stupid fines, endless challenges, hideous local programming rules, etc.
BUT...this is very fun watching the American media make fools of themselves. Go Tebow! If those Broncs can take out NE this weekend it will really go into overdrive as other two games on schedule looking quite doable.
He kicked a 70 yarder in pre-game warm-ups.
They’re trying to build him up so later they can tear him down. SOP for nasty little secularist liberals.
She Tebows now.
well the Broncos have rather slim prospects against the Patriots, but as the saying goes .... “any given Sunday” almost anything can happen
I don't like this talk of a "Mile High Messiah." It feels like a backhanded compliment. Tebow is a very humble man and I'm sure that's the last nickname he would want.
You’re correct. Prater kicked a 70 yard field goal earlier in the day during warm-up and it was almost dead center.
yes. Awesome!
True, and since Tebow has been the QB, Prater's long field goals win games instead of just reducing the margin of loss by three points.
Tell us more about this speech of which you speak; inquisitive Denverites want to know!
He oozes confidence, humility and a fierce competitiveness. That positive attitude stuff is pretty contagious.
yes. great points and also tie to Sarah Palin’s influence. i hadn’t thought about that. the charismatic rise of both through the standing by and the emitting of Christ’s influence and power tells me God is there very closely with The United States of America as evil works so hard to destroy her.
Yes, I do think that what his prayers really are about, for Tebow to recieve credit for the win, not God.
You know, I’d be surprised if they beat New England.
That said, NE is supposed to win. IF the Broncos win...the Tebow mania is going to go insane.
Beautiful. Thank you!
Who said Tebow only attracts Evangelical Christians ?
You either suck at sarcasm or need more practice reading between the lines.
