Perhaps Mohammad had a bad meal in the chow line at Ft. Bragg-work place stress set in and he decided to reprogram a couple of drone landings. Sleeping with the enemy-another don’t ask don’t tell application.
And zerohedge reporting that the Iranians have shut the Hormuz straights for “practice” for their military. And with the good off the shelf chinese parts in our military weapons we can look forward to a lot of stories of “crashes.”
Does the name Major Nidal Hassan mean anything to you?
He did, but its freight forwarder was Iran.
Army Psychologists are piloting Reapers?
I refuse to believe that the drones do not have a self-destruct feature for it’s software and critical hardware. Hope i am correct.
Matter of fact did see either a photo or video of the camel jocks showing off their “catch” and it had some curtain around the underside looking like some air cushion craft. MAGIC CARPET maybe......
If its a fake, what is Obama's strategy in publicly admitting it is ours and asking for its return?
Mahé is an island of the Seychelles. “...[A]ccording to diplomatic cables released by whistleblower website WikiLeaks, drones based in the Seychelles have also been used for missions over Somalia, 1,300 kilometers away...
U.S. drones resumed flights out of the Seychelles this month (September) after operations were suspended in April, Lieutenant Commander James D Stockman, a spokesman for U.S. Africa Command, which oversees the Seychelles base, was quoted as saying.”
The perfect analogy for this entire Administration, A Crashing Drone.
Geez! Sending broken gifts is just so rude.
Obama's options:
1. Call it a fake and forfeit any opportunity to act on this charade in the future.
2. Tell Iran to keep it.
3. Ask for it back.
“Wonder if they considered installing an anti-virus program on the drones?”
If they did it was no more effective than what was installed at the Pentagon when the Chinese Army Hacker Unit paid their thousands of cyber visits.
“A Crashing Drone.”
That would make a good title for a Campaign Rock song. Know anyone who might write it for us?
I tend to agree with your theory.
When the “tether” is lost, the drone is supposed to fly back home, like a homing pigeon.
If it ran out of fuel, how did it land without crashing? It has no tail surfaces and relies on computer controlled aerilon action just to stay in level flight, akin to a B-2 bomber.
If it landed intact, it was a guided landing.
If it crashed, then the drone on Iranian TV is a poor out of dimension fake.
Occam’s Razor can take it from there.
Engine failure after takeoff. Brakes couldn’t handle the heavyweight emergency landing.
Friend of mine told me that some computer science students at Syracuse University were able to hack into a network housing the UCAV flight simulators. Apparently it didn’t take much effort on their part. I’m wondering (if this is true) if the actual UCAV flight controls reside on the same net?
Then again, it’s just a 5-th hand rumor.
