Radio host Michael Savage offers Gingrich $1 million to drop out of GOP race

Conservative radio host Michael Savage is offering Republican presidential frontrunner Newt Gingrich $1 million if he drops out of the GOP race within the next 72 hours, according to a message on his website.

“Newt Gingrich is unelectable. Mitt Romney is the only candidate with a chance of defeating Barack Obama, and there is nothing more important than that for the future health, safety, and security of the United States of America,” the statement read. “Therefore I am offering Newt Gingrich one million dollars to drop out of the presidential race for the sake of the nation.”

Savage conceded that Romney is “not as strong a conservative as many would like him to be,” but listed the reasons why he thinks Gingrich is a threat to Republicans.

Some have argued that Gingrich’s prowess as a debater would pit him well against President Obama during the election, but Savage said that regardless of how well he does, he will “come off badly compared to Obama and look like nothing more than what he is: a fat, old, white man.”

“If Newt Gingrich really loves this country as much as he says he does, if he really wants what is best for America, he will set his ego aside, call me, and accept my offer,” the statement said. “His continued candidacy spells nothing but ruin for conservatives, Republicans and all true American patriots. One million dollars in exchange for preserving the nation, Newt. I say take the money and don’t run.”

I had liked listening to Savage but after this I am not sure what to think.

I am skeptical and have my doubts on Newt but I have made up my mind on Mitt.

Savage should have offered the money to Mitt.

Looks like the left is having a field day laughing at us as we eat our own.

At the last moment someone really Conservative, economically and socially, needs to step up to the plate who is unexpected and wears Teflon. I sure hope The LORD, through providencential undeserved favor (pure grace), surprises us with a really good candidate!

Dr. Weiner is a very wise man. The polls this morning proved his theory.

I agree with this post. I think Weiner is right on about Newt losing to Obama. I believe the ‘surge’ he is getting, are all the Dems crossing over to vote for him, so that he is the one going against BO...He is about the only person that Obama WOULD beat in the lineup.

I am NOT for Romney, and do not think he is the only one who can beat BO...I think any of them but Newt can.

He is hilarious! You should not listen to clips...you have to listen to the whole show. Very funny, and loads of wisdom, really.

He is highly intelligent; has lived around the world, lived in the gay community; grew up a liberal jew in New York City; worked as a social worker, where he witnessed first hand the unfairness and tragedy of the poor; he earned two doctorates, one from Berkley; has been married for many years and is a father, businessman and author; He is known as the worlds foremost authority on natural healing. He speaks from experience and sometimes painful life lessons.

He makes it hard, but I really like him. He is a typical New Yorker, caustic and blunt.

Totally, but like Sodom would have been spared for 10 righteous, by grace I pray the LORD spares this nation what it deserves for the remnant of believers here who really love Him.

From the Contract With America, both, the Balanced Budget Amendment and Term Limits for Congress were voted on and failed to pass. Plus, all of the Contract With America items were profoundly watered down, before the final votes were taken.

This is what happens when you get your information from Michael Weiner, a former liberal loudmouth who became a nominally conservative loudmouth when it occurred to him that there was a larger radio audience on the right: You end up working with the partial knowledge Weiner needed to make his specious critique.

The Contract With America could not, and did not promise to pass anything. It could not because a large enough percentage of Republican incumbents refused to sign, because some of the bills in question were Constitutional Amendments (requiring a 2/3 majority plus ratification), and because Clinton retained his veto power (and used it).

Weiner is mostly likely obtaining his partial knowledge of this subject through libertarian websites.

So we have to have a candidate with sex appeal? Really? A happily married Mormon? SEX appeal counts....can’t be an old fat fuddy dud who horn-dogged his way through 3 marriages?
