Gingrich planning announcement in Ga. Capitol (Tomorrow @ 1pm)

ATLANTA —

Republican presidential candidate front-runner Newt Gingrich has scheduled an announcement inside the Georgia State Capitol on Tuesday, officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.

Gov. Nathan Deal's office told Channel 2 political reporter Lori Geary that Gingrich is expected to hold a news conference in the north wing of the Capitol at 1 p.m. Deal is chairman of Gingrich's campaign in Georgia.

The Gingrich campaign would not release the purpose of the trip to his home state, however an endorsement from fellow Georgian Herman Cain could be a huge boost to the Gingrich campaign.

Cain suspended his presidential campaign after several allegations of sexual harassment and an extra-marital affair. Cain, a Republican talk show host and business man, was ranked near the top of many state primary polls before he decided to stop campaigning.

Gingrich's appearance in Georgia comes just 21 days before the first presidential nomination contest in Iowa. Gingrich and Mitt Romney, considered the current Republican front-runners, were both campaigning in New Hampshire on Monday.

Once the GOP E and the Liberal Media cut down Palin and Cain...they allowed themselves to get an experienced politician who is conservative.

Yes, a flawed conservative, but a man that has done a lot of the conservative movement.

Gingrich won’t allow the E to wrest control back now, he is smarter than they are. He is going to campaign like a frontrunner now...

Gingrich will have a politically important news conference.

Bet on it.

Perhaps a platform; abolishing Federal departments; FDA, FHA, EPA, NLRB, ATF, FDE, HHS, TARP loans, czars, ObamaCare, the UN, foreign aid, gays in the military, income taxes?

Go big Newt!!!!!!!!!! Make their heads explode!!!

Cheating on third wife and just wants to get it out before of the media onslaught? The Third Wife should not be surprised since the Third Wife cheated with Newt on the Second Wife. I wonder if she will just say, “Oh, that Newt....”

Only thing it could be in my mind is endorsement(s). At this point of any campaign for office what else could be so important as to create this sort of expectancy?

He certainly isn’t going to resign from the campaign, and he has to win the nomination before announcing his VP running mate one would think, unless he thinks announcing that at this point in time will put him over the top.

Only thing about Newt running that bothers me is that as he isn’t Romney why are the GOP elitist RINO’s quiet about his running, and potentially burying their guy?

I still believe Romney bought and paid for, either monetarily, or promises made that nomination. The GOP elitist RINO’s owe him IMO.

Yeah, too early for a VP pick...

But Cain is a possibility....more likely Perry.

Perry is conservative, and brings mega organization and finance to the ticket.

Perry will back off the attacks because he has a political brain, unlike Santorum and wind up doll Bachmann, who apparently has had 34 foster children and is a tax atty.

Alternatively, he could screw over the conservatives, and reach around the aisle to the liberal media.

But, this is Newt. When was the last time he did this?

I am a reptile, not an amphibian. A Newt is an amphibian. It is a natural mistake :)
