TEHRAN, IRAN –  Iranian experts are in the final stages of recovering data from the U.S. surveillance drone captured by the country's armed forces, state TV reported Monday.

Tehran has flaunted the drone's capture as a victory for Iran and a defeat for the United States in a complicated intelligence and technological battle.

Lawmaker Parviz Sorouri, who is on the parliament's national security and foreign policy committee, said Monday the extracted information will be used to file a lawsuit against the United States for the "invasion" by the unmanned aircraft.

Iran is also claiming that Chinese and Russian experts were granted access to the drone.

I wonder how much China had to funnel into Obama 2012 campaign coffers to purchase a fully intact cutting edge drone, that just happened to land in perfect condition. I guess Obama has really be studying how to win reelection form the Clinton playbook.

Gosh, Obama has politely asked for the drone back. Hard to believe that Iran would keep it with Obama being so nice about it and all.

Scrubbed memory doesn’t take long to decode.

Obama is still an idiot for not having this destroyed before Iran got their hands on it!

He has been more courteous to the Iranians than he has ever been to Republicans.

A hint:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2818540/posts

...Fox News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported that apparently the Pentagon pleaded with Barrack Hussein Obama to give the order to do just that. The Pentagon initially wanted to send a special forces team to recover the drone. Obama shot down that suggestion. Then the Pentagon offered up plan B , blow it to kingdom come. Obama refused that too and now Iran and China have a brand spanking new fully functional top secret US RQ 170 Sentinel Drone.

The Drone was not recovered or destroyed specifically per Obama’s orders

I hope we included some special features when the software is accessed without the right codes.

I have often wondered what the US is going to do when a lunatic country gets a drone, and starts targeting US diplomats and military people in other countries.

It is not far fetched to think that there could be some hostile drones based somewhere in Mexico or Canada that could target Americans right here.

This captured drone just moves up the inevitable IMO...

Well, they MAY be recovering data - but, decrypting that data might prove a challenge ...

If Iran had the ability to detect and knock these things down, they would have by now. So this event is not that significant. They had a drone fall into their lap.

It’s not like we are in a drone race with Iran, or there is a drone gap. We would swat one of theirs down wandering over say, Boston; if a few minutes.

So the risk for us would be for them to re-purpose some technology. Not sure what that would be, but I’m thinking tha Iranian air superiorty is not one of the purposes.

Blunder?

Not hardly.

What better way to transfer top-secret technology without making the Moslem-in-Chief look like the traitor he is.

If the Pentagon wasn’t encrypting the video feeds, what makes you think that they are encrypting the software?

"Scrubbed memory doesn’t take long to decode."

The problem is, even if it's all wiped, the Iranians are stating that they will bring a "lawsuit" based on the supposedly "extracted information" obtained from the drone.

Whatever secrets, if any, the Chinese and Russians may have been able to obtain would obviously be a huge blow to us. But even if the Iranians are bluffing and couldn't get anything, they would likely make things up- and we would be in a position of having to deny (because it wasn't true), but not be in a position to address anything specifically (because we wouldn't want to give away anything, obviously).

I have no idea what this "lawsuit" is that they're planning, or how it would work- but it seems like that could be the game that Iran is planning (especially to get sympathy from other anti-US regimes).

Yes, this was no accident.
If you all remember, there was software hacking into the drone programs flight controls within the last few months.
This was brought all the way up to the level of the state department security briefings, and concerns about the safety and integrity of the system was brought to Obama’s attention. It was suggested by the drone program to halt flights until this was corrected and cleaned out completely.
Obama rejected that notion and asked them to carry on with the drone flights as per usual. Apparently he didnt want to take the political hit that having his drone program grounded for a bit would cause.
Thats one rationale. The other of course is that this was an orchestrated offering.
Regardless, this traitor had several opportunities to not allow this to happen included the rejection of the orders to destroy it.
He has impeachment offenses nearly every day of the week.
He has traitor offenses probably just as often.

I am praying that it did not simply fall into their laps, but was placed like that huge wooden horse, within their reach.
Instead of hidden troops a small virus might await them.
