WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Monday said the U.S. government had requested the return of a spy drone downed over Iran but declined to discuss if its loss could compromise U.S. national security.
"We have asked for it back. We'll see how the Iranians respond," Obama said during a joint news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki after the two met at the White House.

There may be more here than meets the eye. Its all too fishy to me. Landing almost in tact? The more we demand the more they will investigate the wonders it may contain. Its a CIA drone, one never knows what fiendish, device it has programed in it.

First thing I thought when I saw the photos of the INTACT drone was it was an inside job. Someone paid off or planted to land it in enemy’s hands.
Read earlier this morning I believe in the Israel news that Obama was advised to destroy it but...was AFRAID that would be viewed as an act of terrorism.
Other than OMG...what do you say? Guess it is better Iran has it...since they are NEVER aggressive or perform acts of terrorism. (*sigh*)

I am assuming it was his idea of damage control, but you are so spot on. It even fails as a lame, defensive Dem talking point.
BUT, I have no doubt as to Freeper treetopsandroofs’ comment:

Because the state media are so compliant, the BHO adm’s lies and excuses are even more brazenly transparent than ever.
