A conservative group has set up a nativity scene at the Capitol building in Madison, and an atheists' group is seeking its own permit for an opposing display.
A WISC-TV report says Wisconsin Family Action has been granted a permit to display its scene until the end of the month. The six statuettes that sit on a table depict the birth of Jesus Christ.
Group spokeswoman Julaine Appling says the display is tasteful. She says there's room for a number of different voices.
But the Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation says a nativity scene isn't appropriate for a state building. Annie Laurie Gaylor says her group is seeking a permit for its own display, one that's "slightly blasphemous" and an "irreverent tweak" on the nativity scene.

This is a great opportunity to brush up on the civil rights laws written in the mid to late 1800s all through the Northern Tier to protect the Norwegians from the Swedes, and the Finns from both ~ since Santa is a CULTURAL FIGURE in those regions.
Should be possible to use existing Wisconsin law to round up and incarcerate every single Atheist in the state for RACIAL HATRED.
Liberal USA - Home of “The Tyranny Of The Minority”
When is the “majority” going to be reported as “upset” with the “minority?”
If you think something does not exist why care if someone else does? You should pause, laugh, shake your head and move on.
I’m so damn sick of Annie Laurie and her ilk. I hope she gets run over by a reindeer.
They aren’t atheists. They are anti-Christians.
Double standard? MA Governor invite public to “Menorah” lighting and to “Holiday Tree” Lighting http://bit.ly/tjTQek
Any reminder of what they already viscerally know really upsets them.
This is the same reason that the most vehement abortion supporters are those that have had abortions.
The atheists hate any reminders of God and eternal judgement.
Unrepentent pro-aborts hate any reminder that what they did was murder.
Both for the same reason.
It’s not really about religious displays in the “State Buildings” anymore is it really? The “Freedom From Religioneers” have cowed all private displays, too.
I am never quite sure why atheists who brag about not believing in anything are so emphatic about believing in opposing Christianity. Now from where I sit it just seems like atheists are fanatical believers in not believing. One would think that anyone who truly did not believe in anything would simply not care about what others believe. So, since atheists seem to prove with these silly legal actions that they are anything but atheists, their activity should be null and void and perhaps even actionable since they are pretending to be something they are not.
Obviously, they aren’t “atheists”.
They believe in God, they just oppose Him.
“Who ever would of guessed that Wisconsin was such a hot bed of activity.”
It seems to me that Wisconsin has had entrenched, Leftist domination of the State for quite a long time. Now the Right is standing up and getting their voice heard with the result causing the Leftists to get their knickers in multiple knots.
What’s with all the nit-wits in Wisconsin. Did they move there to sign petitions for the recall? Some have signed as many as 80 times. Wish they would go back to San Francisco where they belong.
Bingo
Let them set up their atheist display. It will be mostly ignored or laughed at.
I’ve had it....This idiotic “political correctness” has gone on far too long....
GET OVER IT!!!!
If you don’t like it, you don’t have to look at it...
Lord, I wish for the 50’s and early 60’s of my childhood....
Most atheists (some say antitheists) are vehemently anti-Christian.
Atheists don’t protest against Islam. Wonder why?
Hmm, a group that’s upset about the birth of a Jewish baby...
