This is certainly something a RINO would say...sarc/off.
I wonder who first named the Arabs "Palestinians", was it the Arabs themselves, a Western politician, or the media.
Gingrich says the truth that no pol has the guts to talk about... The so called Palestinian people are displaced Arabs after the after the 1967 war with Israel.
Newt shocked the world with a huge dose of reality and Romney looked like a tattle telling teacher’s pet with his pathetic critique
FWIW Jim Quinn - Quinn and Rose in the Morning, 104.7 FM Pittsburgh - has been preaching this for years and rightly so!
Lest we forget. Arafat, their long time terrorist leader was in fact Egyptian. The rest of the current terrorist organizations in that land are non-palistinians as well.
The plight of “Palestine” was a PR campaign invented by Yassar Arafat ...con man par excellance
Gingrich is right. There is no Palestinian language or culture or much of anything that makes them anything other than what they are -- Arabs.
We need to support Israel and tell the Arabs to take a hike. Drill-baby-drill!
We’re living in an age where “political correctness” has made the truth pornographic. Anybody with a functioning brain knows the “palestinian nation” is a ragtag squatter settlement and military occupation on the borders of Israel, assembled from the disenfranchised and troublemakers from mainly Egypt and Jordanian expulsions, with the explicit purpose of pushing the jews into the sea. I say good for Newt.
The term is related to the treaties with the crumbling Ottoman Empire after WWI. Of course ‘Palestine’ is an ancient term, but Palestine proper was the result of TransJordan being sectioned to create the area where Jews could settle as a people. None of the newly formed nations under French and English guidance following WWI recognized a ‘palestinian people’ per se and Syria killed more than 20,000 revolting clannish folk and ran the majority into refugee camps in order to establish peace in the French guided Syria. The Hashemites became the larger power in TransJordan and those in rebllion to that development were herded into yet more camps.
Might I add - Arafat and the lame stream media.
First gutty thing I’ve heard out of him.
Excuse me, but Newt is the only one who has made coherent points on the issues of foreign policy and the economy.
One other fact is rarely noticed.
The original Israeli Constitution - circa 1947 - granted full citizenship rights to Arabs living within Israel’s borders.
These rights were being offered at the same moment Jews were being expelled or murdered in North Africa and the Middle East.
Amazing how historically ignorant americans are..
They don’t know american history for sure they don’t world history..
After WWII there very few people in “Palestine”..
When it became Isreal there were still few...
Besides that the Sand Monkeys had cut down nearly all the trees and even large bushes.. for fire.. for centuries..
No monkeys moved there until the Jews made the place a metaphorical garden of eden..
Where did they come from?.. Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.. and Egypt..
Arafat was Egyptian.. as many “palis” were AND ARE NOW..
At that time, the only persons living in the region who referred to themselves as "Palestinians" were the Jews. And it was the British, not the Arabs, who reinstated that term [Palestinians], borrowing it from earlier conquerors, the Romans, who had taken the name from Israel's ancient enemies, the Philistines, who were not Arab, but of Greek origin. That whole Palestinian thingie, it's clear now. They are Greeks.
"Somebody ought to have the courage to tell the truth. These people [the Palestinian Authority] are terrorists. It's fundamentally time for somebody to have the guts to stand up and say, 'Enough lying about the Middle East'," said Gingrich. That's pretty bold. The truth about the whole Mideast fiasco, very important. Speaking the truth to power.
Now for the follow through.
Equine feces. Santorum has too, and he's not a proven liar who will violate his most sacred promises.
