Mandeville, LA Its fighting for the right to conceal carry in Illinois, and more, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk (R) Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
U.S. Representative Timothy Johnson (IL) recently introduced the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Bill H.R. 3543, related to H.R. 822 that recently passed the House, to guarantee carry rights within Illinois state lines, where any kind of carrying is illegal. Overturning this prohibition in Illinois is long-overdue, Rep. Johnson said. Law-abiding citizens deserve the right to protect themselves. Over 100 years of Supreme Court rulings and the 14th Amendment guarantee that no state can deny the rights and privileges of any citizen. The Second Amendment could not be more clear on this issue. Forty-nine other states understand this and have reasonable policies in place to ensure that only law-abiding people willing to go through authorized safety training are permitted this right. The only reason Illinois is the exception is Cook County. This is not acceptable. More information can be found at http://timjohnson.house.gov.

Pow!
Evening, mylife!
I am looking at buying an entry level 1911 style .45. I have shot the Taurus and like it ok. This is not to be a primary defense weapon, just for fun mostly. I like Rugers but their 1911 isn’t appealing to me. Any thoughts on what might be a decent buy and what to stay away from?
Way to Gow Tebow!
