You cant tell me that America is not exceptional. You can't tell me that because I've seen it
"Rick Perry has always remained faithful." -- First Lieutenant Daniel P. Moran
[6:45] Medal recipients tell of their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their fellow heroes -- and why they support Rick Perry.
Even if you don't support Gov. Perry, please watch these men and hear their words.
Hi txrangerette. Here are the links.

Thank you FReeper friend. I was moved to tears too. God bless you and your husband for his bravery (tearing up again).
“Thank you for sharing”
I appreciate it.
” (tearing up again).”
I know what you mean. :)
Nanny-State Newt’s main weakness is his unshakable belief in the goodness of BIG Government.
Newt is a Hamiltonian. Hamilton believed in a large, powerful, and financially controlling, Federal Government.
Kitchen-table Americans are Jeffersonians. Jefferson believed in a SMALL, FRUGAL Federal Government.
In my humble, but ALWAYS correct opinion, the US Federal Government has gone beyond the limit of a Hamiltonian style of Federal Government, and must be reversed towards a more Jeffersonian concept of Federal Government.
If Perry wants to beat Newt, he must have a solid plan to reduce the financial expenditures so that expenditures are reduced below that of our declining National Income.
Normal attrition of large employers is 5 % a year, according to statistians. Thus, if Perry would propose a freeze on employment the Feds would lose 5 % of their employees each year, which would be a reduction of 18.55 % labor expenses after 4 years.
Since Federal Politicians have caused our huge National Debt, Perry should require that for the next 4 years, that ALL (including Perry) Federally elected officials will have, each year, their baseline salaries and benefits cut by the % of the previous year’s deficit to the total actual Federal spending for that year. For example, for the last fiscal year that would be a baseline reduction of 56 % per elected official to be applied in fiscal year 2012.
BTW, isn’t this election about firing the CEO, and cutting the salaries of the Board of Directors?
Deny it if you choose to, but the US Federal Government is the largest Company that the World has ever seen. So let us, the stockholders, hold all of them accountable for their actions, just like any other responsible shareholders do.
You are preaching to the choir, friend, meaning me.
Perry has been on that hymnal page for years.
He has the plans.
Of course, we trust there are others reading these posts who might need to...
BUMP to your post #21 with the video link and transcript of Perry’s speech on Wed. to the GOP Jewish org.

C-130 Rick Perry: He flew the world before politics .
Perry could count on one hand the number of trips he had taken out of his home state by the time he graduated from Texas A&M University, but everything changed when he joined the Air Force.
Flying C-130s, Perry lived in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He flew in Central and South America, North Africa and all over Europe.
"I saw all of these different types of governments and I made the connections to how the people acted and looked, and it became abundantly clear to me that, at that particular point in time, that America was this very unique place and that our form of democracy was very rare," Perry said. " ... That was the greatest gift I received from my years of being in the military, and they really shaped my outlook on the rest of my life."
.....Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Air Force, completed pilot training and flew C-130 tactical airlift in the United States, the Middle East, and Europe until 1977. He left the Air Force with the rank of captain, returned to Texas and went into business farming cotton with his father.

Gov. Rick Perry participates in ceremonies at Camp Mabry to redesignate the 49th Armored Division as the 36th Infantry Division. The former 49th Armored Division, which consists of approximately 12,000 soldiers, makes up almost two-thirds of the Texas National Guard. The division's redesignation as the 36th Infantry Division is part of the Texas Army National Guard's transition from a heavy armored force to a more versatile infantry force.

Wow....that third picture is right out in front of the building I worked in last year and the first half of this year.
It’s on “Walleye Lake” at the now defunct Victory Base Camp.
Thanks Allegra —— and I’m really trying not to “look at your tag line!”
BTW, I thought Perry looked decisive and convincing is this ad.
The odd thing (well not really) is that the MSM is writing headlines to say Perry was gay-bashing when the ad was nothing of the sort. It was an attack on Obama but then the media needed to deflect that, didn’t they.
I have no idea about Leno.
I agree it was not gay bashing. One of the reasons they want to attack it is maybe because it is an effective ad.
well, that makes it all worthwhile, but CW deserves the credit.
She posts, I just comment.
The comments make the thread altura — thank you.
Leno ... I don’t believe he thinks deeply about the issues but all hollywood and tv types defend gays for some reason.
I don’t hate gays myself and don’t think Rick Perry does. He’s not a hater. He is definitely in favor of going back to don’t ask, don’t tell, but he was just trying to illustrate how skewed liberal thinking has become in the ad.
Watching the long version is a very humbling experience. That such men as these come from within this country is amazing to me.
That's exactly the right word. It is humbling and they too are humble men. A lot to be said for humility.
And judging from the blow-back, it looks like he hit a home run!
