“You can’t repeal part of it, because candidly you can’t trust the staffs to tell you which part you ought to repeal.”
Newt! Newt! Newt!
First a goofy position on illegals. And, now THIS!
Here’s some advice from the hinterlands...if the staffer suggests ANYTHING but repeal of the whole damn thing, FIRE THE STAFFER.
The only acceptable pages in the whole document are the two that are marked “This page intentionally left blank”.

Certainly there is a lot of debate today about the housing GSEs, but I think it is telling that there is strong bipartisan support for maintaining the GSE model in housing. There is not much support for the idea of removing the GSE charters from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. And I think it's clear why. The housing GSEs have made an important contribution to homeownership and the housing finance system. We have a much more liquid and stable housing finance system than we would have without the GSEs. And making homeownership more accessible and affordable is a policy goal I believe conservatives should embrace. Millions of people have entered the middle class through building wealth in their homes, and there is a lot of evidence that homeownership contributes to stable families and communities.
These are results I think conservatives should embrace and want to extend as widely as possible. So while we need to improve the regulation of the GSEs, I would be very cautious about fundamentally changing their role or the model itself.
Newt Gingrich April 24, 2007 Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, discussed his vision for transforming government into a 21st century organization at a recent meeting for Freddie Mac employees. In our feature interview, Gingrich explains the unique role of the government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) model.

There could be some good stuff in there. Once you repeal it and strip out every thing, there could be potential to couple some parts with deregulation to actually encourage and increase competition. I know there are many Freepers who have read the entire thing and could opine to that end. Personally, I think if they could provide incentives for insurance companies to drop penalties for existing conditions, it would help a great many Americans. I know cancer survivors who go through hell for this.
Either way, repeal and then reform. Gingrich care? If it's a mechanism for the free market to thrive and grow, we should consider any new ideas.
The fact is that obama has destroyed the current system and it's simply on life support. It may require major intervention to breath new life into it to encourage investors to take risks again in the near future.
But free crap? We are paying with the very soul of our nation right now. The commie crap needs to be shut down now.

Newton Gingrich may have in mind with “health care” what Richard M. Nixon did with the “Great Society” in 1969: not just leave intact but vastly expand it.

Newt. Repeal Obamacare. That’s what the American people want. End of story. That is our number one requirement of a new President. If you’re not willing to do that, we’ll be looking to support someone else.

I love ya, Man, but DON’T say this kind of thing...not even in jest!

No, they aren’t, Newt.
Because it’s all unconstitutional. The federal government has no authority to get involved in health insurance.

First, there are things in Obamacare which people support and republicans support.
Second, I think Newt’s “mandate” is you have to pay something when you get healthcare, not just walk in and say hey too bad you have to treat me for free.
There is a huge difference between health CARE and health insurance, and we allowed teh democrats and media to obliterate the difference.
You should have to pay for everything you get in life, and many times it would be cheaper that way.

See, this is what I mean when I say I can't vote for the Grinch because of his history. I wasn't talking about his marital history as much as I was about what he's said and done both in and out of office. The man is a menace.

“Now there are about 300 pages that are pretty good, a little over 10 percent, but they should be part of the replace document,”
Of course. Newt wants to solve all our problems with Government programs. He is a big government, establishment, progressive republican.
Wool being pulled over the eyes of many on FR.
Once again we will be saddled with a non-conservative as the candidate.

“The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” “you are not your own”. The Spirit owns the body.
No one, no organization, no so called “insurance company” , no government, no judge, no insurance company invested in the CDO bank scam, no financial lobby, no government insurance lobby, no bureau, no agency, no 2700 pages, no 300 pages, no 10 pages, not any page,..has any say in the body, but the Holy Spirit Himself.
The Spirit dwells within.

It’s getting to the point where there is only one thing that matters, who would Newt appoint to the Supreme Court. Most of his policies are utter crap, but the only saving grace he has is who would his choices for the Supreme Court be, that’s the question that needs to be answered.
To: Hoodat
The people of the United States, via the Constitution, did not grant the national government lawful jurisdiction or legitimate power over our health care.
End of discussion. Obama’s scheme is unconstitutional, and so is Gingrich’s.
Once again, the old story proves true: The Democrats propose to tear down the Washington Monument, and the Republicans respond with a detailed, workable plan to do it in three stages.

With any luck, 300 pages of Gingrichcare will never make it through the new Congress.
Unlike the Pelosi/Reid Congress, the new one may be able to block some of this shit.
