Newt Gingrich, the senior Republican statesman and conservative dynamo slams the media, slams ObamaCare, slams Obama. Says all Republican presidential candidates are committed as a team to defeat Obama, repeal ObamaCare!!
Worth watching again when doubters try to convince you that Newt is for the personal mandate.

At the 27:45 - Newt goes after Romney on Romneycare. Romney fires back he got the idea from Newt, who calls Romney out as a liar, to which Romney rephrases that he got the individual mandate idea from the Heritage Foundation (and Newt), to which Newt is satisfied with the rephrasing.
24 days to correct this travesty and get a real conservative alternative to Romney. If people would just support Bachmann, Santorum, or Perry, they’d win.
bttt
Yeah Baby!!!

Thanks, Jim. I hope that you and yours have a blessed Christmas. You have truly blessed America through Free Republic. Your are our “Rush”.
BTTT!
“If people would just support Bachmann, Santorum, or Perry, theyd win.”
Agreed.
In this video, Newt says he’s in favor of the mandate and won’t use it against Romney:

Newt is being set up to be defeated. Just wait.
Obamacare, in totem , is the issue.
Undermining the Individual Mandate is but one part of the argument and its most heinous underpinning.
Bottom line - Obamacare is flat out unconstitutional , procedural flawed and its repeal demanded by clear majorities.
It has introduced confusion and uncertainty in the market place, severely and artificially restricting economic growth.
Obamacare must go and natural market force prerogatives restored.
That said he does stand head and shoulders above the Zero, and if he is the last man standing against Zero, he surely has my vote and support.
Couldn’t help but notice Perry was the only one to applaud Newt. The rest were too fearful to agree with an opponent. Their smallness showed.
It doesn’t matter where it came from or who got there first. Newt has been for a mandate in some form or another at least since Hillarycare.
Bachmann, Santorum or Perry would lose even worse against Obama than Gingrich will.
His debate with Huntsman Monday should be a dandy !
Well I wonder of those three (Romney,McCain, and Newt)who is the most conservative?
McCain is actually more conservative than Newt or Romney...how sad.
Love it. It’s become obvious to me that I want a fighter not a milk toast wimp. Go get em Newt!
Here is a decent article on how Newt Gingrich’s position on an individual mandate has changed over the years.
He did support a requirement for individals to purchase insurance when he was fighting HillaryCare. However, both he and The Heritage Foundation have opposed ObamaCare’s implementation of the individual mandate from its beginning and now firmly believe that such a mandate is unconstitutional and unworkable. IMHO, that is not a political flip-flop to gain votes but rather a conclusion reached after thoughtful analysis.
FWIW
You said: Bachmann Santorum or Perry would lose even worse against Obama than Gingrich will.
Me: This is simply not true, and the Electoral College map does not support that belief. Please tell me which of the McCain states (worth 180 Electoral Votes) a Bachmann, Santorum, or Perry would lose. Then, please tell me which of these states Obama won that are traditionally red states that would vote for him again (IN, NC, VA worth 39 Votes).
In ANY case, the GOP Nominee would carry all the states above at the bare minimum, with the exception of Romney, Huntsman, and Paul.
FL(29) has the advantage to the GOP this time in several ways I’ve explained before. That leaves OH(18) and 1 additional state for the GOP candidate to reach 270 Electoral votes. To say the Bachmann, Santorum, or Perry couldn’t pull this is wrong. The numbers show is CAN be done and in fact, they have the advantage in 2012.
Hooah
When are the other Republicans ever going to realize that they GAIN support when they call the Democrats on the carpet for their idiotic ideas and legislation?
What are you talking about? His record of ACTUAL CONSERVATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS is vastly superior to any other candidate in the field.
How many other candidates set a goal of defeating the 40 year entrenched democrat majority and actually accomplishing that feat. And set a personal goal early on of achieving the speakership and actually accomplishing that. And following through by actually cutting the deficit, cutting the taxes, balancing the budget (four years running so no fluke), reforming welfare, actually blocking a socialist healthcare program (HillaryCare) as opposed to actually passing one (RomneyCare), impeach a corrupt sitting president, etc.
I don’t know about you but I think those are some pretty serious conservative accomplishments,
And on this one he is committed to defeating Obama and repealing ObamaCare:
