The GOP was never very comfortable having the Religious conservatives in its ranks. After abortion, they got them by default.

It is clear, the GOP will keep trying to treat the religious conservatives the same way the DNC does the minorities.

Correct. Who were the key voters that put Bush over the top over Gore, then Kerry?

That’s right: Evangelicals.

But when the GOP abandoned its base in 2008... Obama won easily. I know Huckabee has more than his fair share of faults, but if it were Huckabee v. Obama instead of McPain? We would have the Huckster in office today.
