"Giggling with his lawyer and granting interviews to the media like he was some kind of high falutin celebrity."

The giggling will stop when Jerry meets his new roommate...

OMG!!! HELL YEAH!!! Mark Henry vs. Jerry Sandusky in a Soap on a Rope Hell in a Cell???

Loser gets thrown in the worst prison in the nation, the guards are given a 20 minute "union paid" break.

I'd put that on PPV we'd probably solve the National Debt!!!

Sandusky is a scumn bag, but he’s no Manson of Dahmer.

He has a constitutional right to reasonable bail. Given the circumstances, 250K is reasonable.

The Court could set a percentage, but when the bail order says straight cash, he either has to come up with the whole amount or find a bail bondsmen to post it, at an unrefundable cost of 8-10%. In this case, IF he could find one willing to be responsible for this guy, they'd probably require additional collateral.

Are you aware that in most child molestation cases involving just one victim, bails are set much higher? I don't think $250k in this case is reasonable at all. Due to all the victims continuing to come forward, including one of his own grandsons, Sandusky is clearly established as a danger to the community as well as his own household and should be kept in jail until his trial.

For a man of his position, 250K isn’t all that much money.

USA Today [which can’t be posted] had an article showing that Sandusky’s bail is very much lower than other cases of men raping boys.

He has a constitutional right to reasonable bail. Given the circumstances, 250K is reasonable.

Let's see, he had to pay none of the $100,000 bail for the first 8 kids and 40 counts, which is completely outrageous.

Now he only has to cough up $250,000 for the next two victims, for who knows how many counts which are included with this arrest.

That's only $25,000 per victim (on average). Sounds not so steep to me. I would even say it's ridiculously "reasonable"...so much so that it's unreasonable.

Thanks for the tip, BunnySlippers, on the USA Today article. It wasn't difficult to find.

According to that article, a HS baseball coach in Philadelphia had a $2 million bail. He was charged with sexually assaulting one 13-year-old boy. I guess he just wasn't famous enough or had enough high-profile connections to lower his bail amount to something more "reasonable".

that hilarious...low level dope dealers here in flyover get $50-100k bonds regularly...ya know, the type guys that have zero in the bank, dealin to pay the bills, not celebrities with trust funds and hi powered friends...

serial rape, for decades, with multiple grand jury sworn witnesses would seem to be a case where 'held til trial' would be the reasonable protection to the community at large...

also, while he might still hang himself or get dahmerdered in lock up, he may well be 'safer' there, than on the streets...

The purpose of bail is to reasonably assure that the defendant will show up for court appearances. Sandusky has nowhere to go, which is much different than a drug dealer.

No where to go? How about Thailand? He could have all the little boys he’d ever want there.

or, being as tho we have multiple witnesses and potentially dozens of victims, we could make damn sure that he doesnt skip trial...

unless you believe that its all just a big anti penn st conspiracy, the victims deserve to see their monster locked up...

has nowhere to go...thats funny right there...
