For anyone following the Obama administration's scandalous cluster-of-an-operation Fast & Furious, which resulted in the deaths of innocent people, please see the article excerpted below. (And in my humble opinion, I do believe the anti-2nd Amendment characters working in the Obama administration purposefully used their Fast & Furious gun walking operation to propose more gun control regulations.)
Scour this ARTICLE and let me know if you too think this might be a smoking gun in the Fast & Furious case:
ATF officials didn't intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called "Demand Letter 3". That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or "long guns." Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.
On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF's Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:
"Bill - can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks."
On Jan. 4, 2011, as ATF prepared a press conference to announce arrests in Fast and Furious, Newell saw it as "(A)nother time to address Multiple Sale on Long Guns issue." And a day after the press conference, Chait emailed Newell: "Bill--well done yesterday... (I)n light of our request for Demand letter 3, this case could be a strong supporting factor if we can determine how many multiple sales of long guns occurred during the course of this case."
This revelation angers gun rights advocates. Larry Keane, a spokesman for National Shooting Sports Foundation, a gun industry trade group, calls the discussion of Fast and Furious to argue for Demand Letter 3 "disappointing and ironic." Keane says it's "deeply troubling" if sales made by gun dealers "voluntarily cooperating with ATF's flawed 'Operation Fast & Furious' were going to be used by some individuals within ATF to justify imposing a multiple sales reporting requirement for rifles."
The Gun Dealers' Quandary
Several gun dealers who cooperated with ATF told CBS News and Congressional investigators they only went through with suspicious sales because ATF asked them to.
Sometimes it was against the gun dealer's own best judgment.
The FedMob is totally corrupt and apparently has no regard for individual life in pursuit of their aims.
I’m trying to comprehend that way of thinking. I understand a general making plans that he knows will kill people.
I don’t understand a politician doing so just to advance a political agenda.
How they must view us little people as beneath them!
Magic.
Let’s imagine the following scenario: your premise that she’s trying to “remain relevant” is 100% false (meaning that Palin is motivated by a desire to fix problems threatening our country).
If—hypothetically speaking—this scenario is accurate, 1) what does it say about your judgment? and 2) should you consider retiring to a nursing home or to some sort of supervised living facility?
I thought at the time that it was a rather poor explanation, that this was all done as a public relations stunt to gain support to make new gun laws. We’re talking about thousands of guns here.
Anyone who FReeps or watches FOX news has been on this for months. A Facebook page for Palin is preaching to the choir.
Now if she went on MSNBC and said this, it would mean a lot.
All those weapons didn’t go south without billions in drugs and drug $$$ coming back north through the same corrupt government channels.
It says I'm not buying any DVDs from her. How about you?
I think you misunderestimate how many people visit her Facebook and Twitter pages. Plus, the presstitutes will use this to scoff at her (they can’t help themselves ... plus they’re still under orders) and word will get out to the moderates, unaware, independents and liberals that way. I’m sure not everyone on the Left is okay with providing guns to criminals.
It doesn’t say anything about my judgment—you’re the one claiming contrary to evidence that you have particular knowledge about Palin’s motives.
I guess it's always good to have different opinions so we don't become “group think” liberals.
I have no problem with someone expressing a contrary opinion to my own.
Sarah Palin stands head and shoulders above the current crop of candidates. but if she isn't running; she isn't running.
But among all those calling them out on F&F, Palin’s the only one you want to push back?
Why don’t you come out with “we’re already on this” to anyone else commenting on the issue?
I think you understand my point—your agenda is now more obvious than ever.
“I guess it’s always good to have different opinions so we don’t become ‘group think’ liberals.”
Even if their posts are meaningless?
How many times has a Facebook post of Sarah Palin’s moved the MSM to cover a story or the WH itself to immediately respond? Informing FReepers is not the point.
Do the phrases “death panels,” “drill, baby, drill,” “cackle of rads,” “crony capitalism,” “how’s that ‘hopey-chagey’ workin’ for ya’?” and who knows how many more ring a bell?
As this website has established, Palin leads on these issues like nobody else can do. It’s a good thing to remind people of this in a concise way, as your post does, for accurate documentation of history.
The post encapsulates what has been the most effective tool against the left we’ve had in a long time.
Hmmmm, now that you mention it ...! lol
Whether you are a Palin fan or not....
