HURT: Newt vs. Mitt: A study in contrasts
The Washington Times ^ | 12/6/2011 | Charles Hurt

Mitt Romney is an Olympic preparer. He prepares for everything. Every possible eventuality is treated by him as if it were a strand of hair on his meticulously-coiffed head, placed just so with the utmost forethought and consideration. (snip)

The one possibility, however, that was too ridiculous, too absurd, too unrealistic to even consider was that with just weeks to go before the first ballots are cast for the Republican nomination, Mr. Romney would be entangled in his toughest struggle to date - against former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

But here we are, and now it is time to figure out which of these two uninspiring candidates to choose from - assuming we don’t see a late surge by former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania or Rep. Ron Paul of Texas. (snip)

Interesting article and analysis on both Newt and SlickMitty. This author (not me) appears to like aspects of Romney (and is over the top in his compliments), but recognizes the difference that Newt brings to the table for these times.

But the problem for Mitt is that these are not normal times. These are desperate times. We don’t need competence. We need a revolution.

And this is where Newt shines.

The problem with Mitt is that he is competent. He might actually push us toward socialism faster than Obama would. They both approve of socialism, Mitt based on his far left values and Obama because he wants to bring America down to be equal with the rest of the world, but Mitt could implement it more smoothly because he knows what he is doing. We don't need competence in the wrong direction; we need common sense values. I'm willing to say that Newt has those values more than 90% of the time, which puts him WAY ahead of Mitt or Obama.

Note: I know I'm not the best cheerleader around for Newt, but it's time to settle for him unless we can find a better viable option. [It's also time to keep looking for that better candidate and to keep checking on their backgrounds so we don't have a meltdown in the general election - and Newt's many scandals are all "old news" so he's nearly scandal proof.]

I can just see Myth sitting everyday with his hired minions going over ever possible question that could be asked of him and he memorizing the answer chosen by the minions.

Can you imagine what it's like being a political researcher for the MSM? You've been working for months on digging up 10,000 obscure weird facts about Mormonism that they are planning to use against Romney if he becomes the GOP nominee. Crazy made up stuff like Mormons eat their babies, they worship feces, and they drink their own urine. Knowing the MSM I'm sure it's the kind of stuff that makes sensationalism seem tame.

Now with the shift in momentum to Newt they've had to change gears and come up with creative slime that links Newt to the backwoods characters of "Deliverance" who they will portray as part of his Georgia family roots. The political commercials will be like nothing seen before. I picture a photoshopped Newt sitting on a porch playing a banjo singing, "You've got a real purty mouth Obama."

In case you missed it, I’d like to share this video of Jon Stewart exposing Romney. At 1:45 in the video, Romney is seen in an interview filmed a few days ago, being asked by Bret Baier what book he read last. Romney declines to tell the truth, because that book is apparently not serious enough. Instead he says he “just read” Decision Points by GWB.

Stewart then shows us a clip of Romney being asked the same question 6 months ago and replying he “just finished” Bush’s book.

Myth’s minions need to update!

It takes a birther to say something that far out. Newt, who wanted to buy a laptop for every child in
America with taxpayer money, who supported a healthcare mandate until as recent as May and flipped for political gain, is not a socialist but Romney is.
