My dad taught me that a bully will always prey on those that will NOT defend themselves. If I wasn’t willing to stand and deliver I deserved to be bullied.

I have always joked that everything I ever needed to learn about international politics I learned on the grade school playground. The weak get picked on. The stupid start fights with the weak to try and prove they are important. The smart and strong never have to fight unless they want to, because they are important. Teachers don't care because talking to the bully's parents is pointless. Finally nobody screws with the crazy kid who might pick up a brick and bash the bully's brains out when he turned his back. Being short, not terribly strong, being from the wrong side of the tracks, and having coke bottle glasses, I soon learned that the best way to keep my lunch money was to be able to convincingly fake crazy.
