As big a rat at Blago was and is, there's a part of this sad case that everyone can relate to: the toll it's taken on his family. Patti is no delicate flower, but for better or worse, she loves the dope, as do his daughters, and from all indications he's a good father. (At least to the extent that you can be a lying conniving corrupt idiot and still be a good father to your kids).
Maybe the one lesson that can be learned from the whole unfortunate Blago saga is this: think about someone other than yourself when you set out to do dumb stuff. They're going to pay the price of your screw-ups too.

Blago’s silence about zero and company disturbs me.

Patti should be in the women’s prison across the street from Blagojevich. Good father? A good father doesn’t put his family in this position. F him.

He should have though of consequences back before he did it. His daughters will be able to see him again........ on visiting day. Besides.... obama will pardon him on his last day in office.

I feel sorry for the kids that their parents are a couple of scumbags. I really do.
That being said Blago deserves a first class public hanging.

Patti Blagojevich pleads with judge: 'Be merciful' Sorry, Patti. Someone has to teach your children right from wrong since it's apparent neither of you scumbags are up to it.

Blago has the goods on the Kenyan but he’ll keep them in a lockbox in exchange for a pardon which may come as early as this year’s Kwanzaa.

Blago has chosen to do hard time rather than spill his guts about the Chicago machine. It’s his call.

Why did Blago get fingered? I am sure that he merely did politics as usual just like almost all other Illinois politicians (especially Democrat). I am sure he was shocked at being pick out of the crowd for punishment. For politics in Democratic Illinois he was being completely normal.

He might not be in this predicament had he dropped a dime on obama.

Corrupt politician is an oxymoron. Blogovich is an everyday moron. He becomes the 4th governor in 30 something years headed to prison. Somebody said they should give him a stiff sentence to ‘set an example.’ Set an example? The only way to set an example with Illinois politicians is to give them the death penalty. Blagovich will get 10 years and in about a year when Obama is leaving he will give him a full pardon and Blago will be able to celebrate Christmas 2012 with the family and watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” on tv. What a happy ending.
