I sent Herman money, but I have no problem with him keeping it.
He did everything he could to stay in the race.
And the Washington Times and the rest of the media did everything they could to drive him out.
Now they want to hold him to a standard to which they don't hold other failed candidates.
FUWT.

Well, that’s how it works. He could return the money if he wants, but he certainly doesn’t have to.

So Cain was supposed to do what... drive a compact rental car and eat pizza everyday... stay at Motel 6?

I do have a problem with these candidates keeping money after they drop out. I don’t know what the right solution would be, but I don’t like the tradition.

There is not a national candidate on either side of the aisle that I would trust as far as I can throw them.
I’m going to vote Gingrich because he’s the best of a rotten bunch. But I would not trust Newt Gingrich to hold my lunch money.

Under fed law, can he convert the campaign cash to personal use?
To: NoPrisoners
Returning the money or donating it would be a sure sign that he wasn't in it just for self-promotion.
Sure seems like it would be the right thing to do.

Every campaigning candidate pockets their campaign money when they quit. Sometimes they even quit before they actually start campaigning. I bet barney frank walked away with a chunk of campaign money.

They talked about Obama being likely to raise 1 billion dollars. If he spends a couple hundred million on the campaign and banks the rest that would make a nice payday.

I donated $25, then $9.99. Considering what he and his family have endured lately, he can do what he pleases with it, as far as I’m concerned.
I’m still highly pissed off at not only the “media,” but the RINO establishment for tacitly aiding and abetting the attacks on Mr Cain. If he was destined to go down because he simply wasn’t cutting it on the policy/knowledge side, then fine... but for a worthless pack of money-hungry political prostitutes to destroy his candidacy makes me want to puke.
And I still don’t know who I want to support, going forward.

spending thousands at hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton and the Four Seasons, and eating largely steak dinners, records show. But it's fine for Obama et al to travel to and dine at the world's finest of restaurants.. all on the taxpayers' dime? C'mon WashTimes.. you're better than this.

I didn’t send money because I’m broke but if I had it would have been around $25.00 (like I sent to GWB’s first campaign) and he would have been welcome to keep it.
To: NoPrisoners
Mr Cain's giving it to a charity for women would be a very good idea and he really does seem to have a special place in his heart for women down on their luck financially. Maybe in the Atlanta area by the church he pastored there may be an outreach for women who have had the misfortune of getting trapped in a life of prostitution - he could direct the money there - to set them free from this life of bondage, sin, crime, loneliness.

If you send ANY politician ANY money you are not entitled to a refund. If you believe that you are, then you are a moron. A mental midget. An emotional delinquent. Basically a useless, sorry sack of three-day old crap.
