NEW YORK -- Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich paid a courtesy call on Monday to real estate magnate Donald Trump in what has become an obligatory stop for some GOP hopefuls in 2012. He called Trump "a genuine American icon."
After their late-morning meeting, Gingrich said he and Trump discussed ways of creating jobs for poor children, an issue that got the candidate in hot water last week when he suggested that poor kids have no working role models except those that are "illegal." Gingrich said he asked Trump, the host of the reality show The Apprentice, to offer apprenticeships to 10 children in the poorest New York City schools.
Trump said he would take Gingrich up on the idea and said of the candidate, "It's amazing how well he's doing and how (his campaign is) really resonated with so many people."

And they call me “the fringe element” for reusing to support Gingrich. mmmmhmmmm
CBS seems to like the Hind-Lick maneuver when it comes to Barry! It’s about time they loose their ability to frame the debate.
...and CBS kisses Obama’s butt, every single day.
And CBS kisses Obama’s ASS!
What the hell happened that now all GOP candidates think it’s incumbent upon them to pay homage to Trump? Who died and made Trump king...or king maker?
Trump is only moderating a debate. Relax.
Good.
Two patriots who actually speak up for America, meeting.

I would rather Newt kiss a mans ring with a job and creates jobs than kiss this guys ring.
What an insulting headline. As if the Donald is somehow above Newt and Newt seeks his approval. And of course, the rabid fringe will now salivate on demand in 3,2,1...
I wouldn't describe either visit as "kissing the ring". The Donald is no kingmaker. Just an interesting conversationalist.
What GOP Presidential candidate hasn’t met with Trump? Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman?
CBS is trying to convince you that Trump is a king-maker in the Republican party to marginalize the R candidates, and you are accepting their premise...
Agree- this “homage” to Trump is becoming farcical. I respect Hunstman and Paul for saying no deal. If they want a serious moderator there are scores of them with gravitas that lend a modicum of seriouness. This is not one more beauty pageant sponsored by Trump. Time to relegate the Trumps of this world to irrelevance.
These themes do not appear like this by accident...
they meant O-ring ;-)
Sorry, they own too much of it for that to happen.
