When I asked Gingrich how he would characterize a career politician, and is Mitt Romney one, he pointed to his rival’s repeated runs for office - the U.S. Senate, governor, and running for president “for six years” - and said he would let the press decide.
I knew he’d get her. She’s like a kid who gets caught stealing cookies, and her response is to come up with harsh new punishments for cookie thieves.
He’s a total fool if he thinks she cares about any house ethics rules.
One of the best kept secrets (kept by the press) about Nancy is that she is STOOPID. I was living in SF when she started her ascent to power, and she was just a rich Democrat matron doing what the leisured class had time to do...run for office.
She’s from Baltimore and her maiden name was D’Alessandro. She married into the San Francisco Italian aristocracy, and started her political career as an SF City Supervisor (their name for City Council member). SF, being crazy, went through a number of different configurations of this board, at times being by neighborhood, at times being at large, etc. Lots of strange people got elected then.
She was never smart and never effective, but she knew how to suck up to power. She got in with the Burtons (important SF Dem family) and rose through the ranks. But she remained dumb as a post, and the only thing she has ever known how to do was latch onto somebody powerful and be his attack dog.
Oddly enough, though, I don’t think she and Bambi get along very well. For one thing, he doesn’t like women, and while she may not be a model of femininity, she is female and I think Obama has a problem with that. His wife lives a very separate life and that’s obviously how they work it out.
Nancy’s still doing what got her to the top of the heap all those days ago in SF, but I don’t think she has a really good connection to power anymore and I think she’s making her own stab at it now...but since she’s dumb as a post, it’s probably going to collapse on her and crush her. Pity.
Oh for goodness sake, Jim. All this is is a way for Gingrich to try to erase the love seat photo with Pelosi. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don’t believe for one minute that Gingrich’s philandering was limited to wife two and three. Of course, the demrats have done their opposition research and they know what they need to know. President Gingrich will act on the demrats behalf when they tell him too.
