Newt Gingrich said that a threat from Nancy Pelosi to disclose information she learned while serving on an ethics committee investigating him during his time as Speaker of the House would "totally abuse the ethics process" and violate rules of the House of Representatives.
"I want to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift," Gingrich said at a press conference in Manhattan Monday.
Gingrich denounced Pelosi's threat as "a fundamental violation of the rules of the House," and said that if Pelosi were to disclose details of the investigation, it would expose the "tainted ethics process the House was engaged in." He also called for the House to condemn Pelosi if she were to reveal anything from the ethics probe.

There were 84 ethics charges filed against Newt, 83 were found to be baseless. It was a rope-a-dope to deflect attention from the Clinton/Lewinsky debacle. If they had anything against Gingrich, it would have been released a thousand times before today. Actually, to me, Pelosi sounds like she is threatening Newt, and she should be called on the floor for this kind of behavior. Guarantee you she has nothing, but the statment alone is loaded and she knows that alone will get attention.
I would love to see her get defeated in ‘12. Prob never happen though.

I don’t believe for one minute that Gingrich’s philandering was limited to wife two and three. Of course, the demrats have done their opposition research and they know what they need to know. President Gingrich will act on the demrats behalf when they tell him too.

Well, all I can do is repeat over and over again that if this race boils down to Newt vs Mitt, I’m all in for Newt. It’s a no brainer. Newt’s actual congressional record is that of a pro-life, small government, big defense, budget balancing, Reagan conservative. Mitt campaigned and governed as an anti-Reagan, pro-abortion, homosexual rights pushing, big government socialized healthcare installing, mandate loving, liberal activist judge appointing Ted Kennedy progressive. Those are the facts and they’re in the (real) history books. Look them up. Your mileage may vary, but if it includes rooting for Romney against Newt, count me out!
