Pelosi plans to reveal information about Gingrich 'when the time is right' By Alicia M. Cohn - 12/05/11 11:44 AM ET

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is holding back some information on Republican Newt Gingrich that could detract from his presidential campaign, according to a report published Monday.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi told Talking Points Memo. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

Gingrich, who served as Speaker of the House, worked with Pelosi in Congress from 1987 to 1999. Pelosi also served on the ethics committee that investigated Gingrich for tax cheating and campaign finance violations in the late ’90s.

Gingrich filmed an ad with then-House Speaker Pelosi in 2008 to urge action on climate change, which haunted him early in his presidential bid this year. Gingrich called the ad “probably the dumbest single thing I’ve done in recent years” last month.

Republicans in Congress have been slow to rally around Gingrich’s rise to front-runner status in the polls, with former GOP colleague Sen. Tom Coburn (Okla.) stating publicly over the weekend he is not “inclined to be a supporter” of Gingrich due to that past experience.

But Democrats such as the soon-to-retire Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) have suggested Gingrich as the GOP nominee would benefit the Democratic Party.

"He would be the best thing to happen to Democrats since Barry Goldwater," Frank said last week. Goldwater is credited with reviving Republican conservatism in the ’60s.

Pelosi told Talking Points Memo that Frank “spoke for a lot” of Democrats. “I like Barney Frank’s quote the best, where he said ‘I never thought I’d live such a good life that I would see Newt Gingrich be the nominee of the Republican party,’ ” she said.

And Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who also served in Congress with Gingrich and now holds a position of power as assistant minority leader in the House, charged Gingrich on Monday with lacking the temperament to be president.

“He tends to fly off the handle. He will say almost anything in order to get a charge. I’m sure that he’s not serious when he says a lot of these things,” Clyburn said on MSNBC.

“Either way, Pelosi is a Catholic disgrace.”

If I were a Catholic today I’d leave the church for allowing this woman to continue to take the sacrament. If you are a Catholic and have money or power ( or in her case both) you can behave any way you like and the church looks the other way. Not so for the “little people.” But then the Catholic Church has company, the Mormon Church allows Harry Reid to remain a member in good standing despite all of his variances with respect to his churches teachings. Oh well, most, if not all churches are Marxist/Socialist at their core so it all makes sense.

I’m pretty sure Gingrich doesn’t care. Neither does anyone else except those who have already decided to vote for Obama.

When is someone going to reveal information about Pelosi?

When she tries to dump on Newt. San Fran Nan had better tiptoe through those tulips very cautiously. Newt's had a lot of time to plan revenge for the crap the Dems dumped on him when he was Speaker.

They returned out of dozens of accusations a paltry ONE charge.

It was eventually found to be not valid.

What do you say to someone who gets a chance to rifle through your stuff due to false accusations, and then is permitted to cherry pick bits and pieces to create the appearance of wrong?

There isn’t anything bad you could say about Pelosi that hasn’t already been said.

After reading all the nastiness about each and every Republican candidate here on FR, I have come to the conclusion that Obama is the best this nation has to offer. Thanks FR for being so enlightening.

She needs to keep in mind that negative campaigning backfires

I love people who dream. It may backfire for us republicans but it certainly works pretty well for the democrats. Hilary, Cain, Sarah and so on and so on...wake up.

Screw Pelosi. This is not about her. It is whether Gingrich can beat Obama. And no one in their right mind (except stupid Republican primary voters in Iowa and New Hampshire) think he could. As another FReeper has commented, Gingrich is hated by women and is intensely disliked by Independents. As George Will has rightly written this is going from “bad to worse” and a second Obama term will take this country to a point of no return. We are committing political suicide.

Tell me about it; I’m getting really sick to death of the double standards in this country when it comes to Democrats and Repubs. This Repub party can kiss my arse, nothing but a bunch of arse kissing elitists who can’t bow fast enough to every treasonous slimebag liberal that breaks every law in the book. Oh yes Pelosis net worth rose 62% last year, ample evidence she regularly games the stock market with insider info, but let’s completely ignore that. Let’s instead allow Democrats to throw Republicans like Bernard Kerik in jail for 4 years for screwing up his tax return despite the fact that he’s a vet and one of the most decorated cops in NYPD history because ruining Rudy Gulianis Presidential bid is more important. Repubs could run and hide fast enough when that BS was going on, just like they ran and hid for Herman Cain.

Uh, isn't that supposed to be confidential? Bring it on, bitch,. and prepare to be censured or expelled by the House GOP as they reveal all YOUR info about insider dealing with your brother-in-law's solar company and your husband with VISA's IPO.

Why is Nancy Pelosi trying to scare Republican primary voters out of supporting Newt. Does she really have Republican voters’ best interests at heart? If her allegations were true, she wouldn’t even hint that she had any dirt until after the Republican Convention. She is politically savvy enough to keep her powder dry until it can actually help Obama. If these allegations were true she would do whatever she could to make sure Newt got the nomination, not trying to poison his candidacy before the primaries begin like she is doing now. I hope that Republican primary voters are smart enough to see through this. If anything, her attempts to destroy Newt so early should help build Newt’s support among Republican voters. The Democratic leadership is clearly scared of him.

The person in modern history who is said to have perfected the tactics we now see being used in our political system, especially by the left, was an individual named Reinhard Heydrich. He used spies, kept detailed files, employed hookers for bait, you name it, and invented the modern form of political destruction through extensive dirt digging into the most obscure recesses of one’s past. Pelosi, Axelrod et al would have loved the guy. Google him if the name doesn’t ring a bell.

“Beck told him to expect a tough interview.”

****

Not a fan of Newt...and have to wonder why he would do an interview with Beck. Beck is a Mormon fan boy of fellow Mormon Romney the RINO. It is going to be an LDS hit piece instead of a fair interview.

It doesn’t matter how corrupt Pelosi or any of them are

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/249073/20111114/pelosi-boehner-accused-soft-corruption-60-minutes.htm

They will tear down all GOP candidates but Romney and Huntsmen and Obama will win with NO VOTER ID LAWS unless we have a VERY STRONG CANDIDATE.

With front runner Cain successfully discredited, the Dems now move on to the next Republican smear campaign.

This is only the beginning - until no one but Romney is left. A "dream match" for the socialists.

And he will be the easiest for Dems to destroy, ushering in the second term for Obama.

And the destruction of America will be complete!

Since you are in agreement with conservative greats such as Pelosi, Frank and Clyburn, apparently Republican primary voters can be quite stupid.
