I’m not a fan of Newt but he is still a better option than Romney and Perry is a total loser, so I may have to go with Newt. Color me not happy.

Thanks. Well, as to Perry, he was a democrat in Texas when everyone was. The Texas democrats were mostly very conservative but as they gradually became more like Democrats, Rick Perry became a Republican and has been one for many, many years.

He has held many offices in Texas and has been governor for 11 years. He’s done a great job in spite of many obstacles. He’s had to deal with a huge influx of illegals who are a drain on the economy.

Don’t let anyone tell you that he invited them in. He did not. The feds have looked the other way for 30 years and Obama is still looking the other way (from Hawaii right now).

Rick Perry has created a business friendly environment and passed tort reform. He’s fought Planned Parenthood in the state and most of those clinics are closed.

He’s done tons of other good stuff. He has no skeletons in his closet... the libs and liberal press have been digging around in there for years and all they’ve found is boots.

If Newt shoots himself in the butt, I hope everyone here will take another look at Perry.

He faltered at first but he’s on his game now. He’s a good man, extremely personable and, well, just an all around good guy and good administrator.

I remember talking to you specifically on a debate thread where we were both impressed with Newt, I think he was talking about sending Dodd and Frank to jail :)
Of course he has made mistakes in the past but haven't all the candidates?
Sadly, this will get uglier, I just hope and pray that Newt wins this and we can rally around him and unite as a community to send Barry packing!!!

Yep, I liked Gingrich early on in the debates and didn't mind saying so! In fact, when I met him in Tampa after the GOP/TEA Party Express/cnn debate, I told him, among other things, that I hoped he would gain traction because I thought if he did, he would likely be the nominee. That stopped him short of falling over...LOL. Well, look at him now!!!

I'm sorry that I gave him a silly answer, when he asked me why I thought he would be the nomineee, but I was in a silly mood that night.

Look to my original post, and let’s not make more of this than it was. Reagan’s first wife “moved on” and left him behind. I’m not saying I wouldn’t vote for Gingrich IF he’s the nominee, but, much like Dole and McCain before him he won’t get my labor, phone calls or enthusiasm.
