Romney is the last guy of the remaining that I want too, but IF (and that’s a big IF) he is the nominee, it’s either him or Obama! That’s just the ugly fact.

What a horrific thought. I can't say the thought of a Pro-amnesty Gingrich getting the nomination is any more appealing.

Actually, if that were to occur I would write in Sarah Palin.

“If she wants to score points, take the gloves off and go after him. ..”

That would be a good call to the Mark Levin show, because maybe he’ll clue her in.

I think Bachmann is making a play for Romneys VP spot, by virtue of never attacking him, and only attacking anyone to the right of him.

She is not vying for his voters, why should she attack him and alienate them for no good reason? Bachmann's potential pool of voters are the anti-Romney movement conservatives and Tea Party folks.

If the time comes where Bachmann is fighting for the same voters as Romney, she will attack him without reservation. As of now, there just isn't much point.

Talking tort reform now.

Tricky balance of federal vs state.

Haven’t heard enough of Santorum to have much of an opinion. But I sure like Sarah, despite the fact that she’s not running, and Michelle Bachmann. I think they represent my views more consistently than any of the other candidates.

We Tea Party'd and we got two of our own on the stage : Bachmann and Cain. I'll happily support either. I'm willing to support Santorum. I was happy to hear Perry join the race and vetted him only to refuse him my support. I won't touch Romney or Huntsman. I can see Gingrich as Secretary of State or even VP, but in his mind the Tea Party is just a militant group and over stated. He does not have the back of We the People, so I won't have his. That only leaves Paul -- and I'd vote for him with a smile before going Romney, Huntsman, Gingrich, or Perry. I'll wait and see if they manage to destroy Bachmann and Santorum, and whether other folks swing towards Paul in protest. But if I don't have a "reasonable" choice left to me, darn right I'll vote 3rd party or write someone in. I won't stand with my enemy just to claim "I win".

Beck is also suggesting either Bachmann or Santorum, and I am glad to see Levin doing the same.

Honestly, I don’t think either of them can win the nomination at this point, but they are the most conservative in the race and I appreciate the ideological consistency.

I hope Bachmann catches on, but I think she destroyed her campaign attacking Perry. She just took the whole HPV thing too far and sounded shrill and unpresidential. I agree with her on virtually every issue, she is a true conservative warrior and I think she is becoming a stronger candidate as time passes.

Yea, you (the candidates)should agree and only fight where there is a difference.

The Tea Party menu is getting thin, but it is the correct vector for Conservatives.

There’s plenty of time to compromise, cave or capitulate later.

Or not!

Paul is a kook on foreign policy and defense. Wonderful on economic issues for the most part, total crap on everything else. I could never, ever vote for him with a smile. He is the candidate of absolute last resort for me - I'd even prefer Huntsman. Still, as wacky as I consider Paul is, I would vote for him if he wins the nomination (which he won't).

I am not a huge Huckabee fan, so I think this is probably his best show ever. So far I have enjoyed the Q&A. Must say I have been reasonably impressed with all so far. Heck, Perry even did okay.

Who are you thinking is our best option going forward?

The smile is more directed to Karl Rove and the other GOP elites whose heads would explode as their candidate receives fewer votes than Ron Paul. One way or the other, they are going to get the message that the Tea Party is not the party of country club elitists.

That would only ensure Obama gets four more years. (And I'm a huge Palin fan), but reality is, it will either be Obama or whomever our nominee is. I am praying our nominee is someone I can stomach!

Gotcha. Well, the thing about Ron Paul is I love almost precisely 50% of what he has to say. The problem is, when it comes to foreign and defense policy I disagree with him almost entirely. I just don't think he even remotely understands the threat of Islamic radicalism, and I think his worldview is overly simplistic and naive. This is coming from someone who lived in Asia and saw first hand Muslim violence which is clearly unconnected to Israel or the US.

Saying that, I appreciate his consistency at least. He is not afraid to say what he thinks no matter how politically incorrect it may be. I will give him credit for that.

Still, I can't support Paul no matter how amusing it might be to see him beat out Romney the chameleon. Yes, I will vote for him over Obama (which is more than I can say for many/most Paul supporters who will end up voting 3rd party or for Hussein since Paul won't be the nominee), but I wouldn't be smiling.

There’s no way in hell I’ll ever vote for Romney. And to be honest, the idea of Gingrich as nominee tends to nauseate me beyond words. I honestly don’t think I could vote for him either. Perry is my governor, and over the past twelve years I’ve gone from generally liking him to being disappointed in him to almost loathing him. He’s pretty good on federalism, but rotten on illegals, and vapid on most other things...the epitome of a hambone ‘professional politician.’ Ron Paul... no way.

So I’m left with Bachmann and Santorum, and although they have pretty darned solid, agreeable conservative voting records, neither of them particularly inspire me with confidence, in terms of lasting out very far in the primary season. Santorum just doesn’t come across well at all, and Bachmann’s comportment throughout this whole past year of campaigning has been incredibly aggravating.

Anyway, I have an idea that neither Bachmann or Santorum will even be around by the time my state’s primary comes up. If that’s the case, I’m “writing-in” Sarah Palin’s name, which (despite those that want to argue its pointlessness) will offer a certain satisfying contentment. That will likely be the only positive thing I’ll derive from this election, judging from the way things are going.

Really? I can only wish my 1 vote carried that much weight. Fact is, my vote isn't going to make a hill of beans difference in deciding where Kalifornia's 55 electoral votes go. It is a fact, Kalifornia will go to Obama whether I vote or not. I would like to live in a state where my vote counts but Kalifornia isn't one.

I like Bachmann because I know she means what she says. I think she’s going to land some surprisingly big endorsements soon and will be in the race for the long haul.

I don’t know if she’ll win but I’m happy to support her.

With Cain out, Michigan has basically been given to Romney with a pretty bow on top.
