SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Two self-described Disney "fanatics" have purchased a house in Utah modeled after the colorful home featured in the animated movie "Up."
Discovering the house in the Salt Lake City suburb of Herriman, Utah, was a dream come true for Clinton and Lynette Hamblin of Petaluma, Calif. The couple had been looking for a house with some of the same flourishes as the one in the movie, such as a multi-colored exterior or a blue kitchen with retro appliances.
They initially looked in California until they saw news reports about the house in Utah that included every possible detail from the movie and was even officially recognized as the "Up" house by Disney. Even more surprising was the $400,000 price tag, which was less than homes they looked at in California.
For them, however, the real attraction to the house was it underscored the overriding theme of the movie.

Baloons not included.
Can it fly with balloons too?
Utah will get another Liberal from California because they can’t afford California’s home prices.
Why wouldn’t it have balloons as part of it?
Seems like it’d be the talk of the town.
Maybe they should build a copy in every state, with a certificate of authenticity of course, so someone can try to collect the whole set.
They should build in a number of chambers to hold multi-colored weather balloons that can be filled from helium tanks in the attic and inflated at a button push.
Not that the house will fly, but that they can really make it look like the house. Charge a premium for that.
Just goes to show, there are still a few people out there with money to blow or spend on whatever.
$400K - for THAT??!!!
The house sits all by itself. Obviously, the neighbors all found out Ed Asner lived there, tore down their houses, and moved to California...
Must be fake. Isn’t that house is sitting somewhere in Latin America, by a huge water fall?
Would this be a couple of hard working trust fund types.
Porch railing not to code.
House colors not approved by homeowner’s association.
Balloon airlift device and no navigation lights violate FAA flight rules.
Since when did FreeRepublic start to be a place for class warfare that when someone buys something with their own money that a Freeper doesn’t like, they have to explain where the money come from?
Best movie ever made. Ever.
Since they started occupy. Does the fact that someone may be a trust fund baby bother you, I respect people that earn it. Those that just spend it have earned nothing.
FreeRepublic is like a woman. It has moods. It doesn't always make sense.
