UPDATE -Mayor Emanuel is denying he is involved in anyway with the exchange of information regarding Cain's sexual harassment accusers.

Herman Cain's campaign is revealing suspicions about who is behind the story regarding the former unidentified employees who accused Mr. Cain of sexual harassment in the late 1990's.

According to a source who is friends with the Cain campaign, not only is the Rick Perry campaign involved but also the Mayor of Chicago and former Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is likely involved with the sexual harassment accuser attacks. A friend of the Cain campaign believes a National Restaurant Association (NRA) employee out of the Chicago office leaked the story to the Perry campaign via information and influence from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office.

According to Politico's Jonathan Martin, Curt Anderson, the Perry advisor who the Cain campaign is accusing of leaking the damaging information, is denying the charges:

I find it hard to believe that Perry and Rahm are working together?

I think Cain suffers from paranoia.

It doesn’t matter so much who is responsible; but how easily so many “Conservatives” have fallen for it and thrown him under the bus only to jump right onto the bus driven by an establishment Republican.

Useful idiots indeed.

Ugh...lost my interest when read “according to POLITICO’s Jonathan Martin”

I can’t think of a sleazier journalist...he may be now trying to redeem himself but sorry.

The subtext of all this is that there's a group of Republicans and Democrats working to EASE OBAMA OUT EARLY which will require the Democrats to run someone else ~ preferably Hillary Clinton (in their minds if nowhere else).

Some of the conspirators are necessarily Obama's closest aides over the years ~ Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, .... probably others.

My choice for being the bad guy is David Axelrod.

Suspicions? Doesn’t the Cain campaign understand that it needs to present credible facts? Not guilt by alleged association, not hunches, but cold hard facts. If they could do that they could turn the tables on the accusers and reverse his slide in the polls. “Suspicions”, intuitions, and innuedo aren’t going to help.

It would be a shame if this race really narrowed to Newt and Mittens. Cain needs to get on top of this.

Cain’s people’s accusations against Perry and his people with absolutely no proof are not helping Cain’s cause. The idea that Perry would work with Rahm deadfish and the Ci-cago mob is indeed paranoid.

Rahm is so dirty, if says this guy had something to do with it, you better believe he DIDN’T! Rahm is just trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I’m sure he is smugly thinking that if it sticks he can damage Perry AND Cain with one punch(because he is so much smarter that us, of course.)

Bull crap that Perry is involved.

Rahm on the other hand, no matter if it is Romney, Gingrich or Perry or smaller chance, Cain, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The Chicago mafia along with their $1B and Soros’ money will be unleased.

Look, though, like what Rush espoused yesterday and today along with Hannity, it is time to not let the MSM dictate our mood! The truth is Obama is unelectible.

Not accepting on faith what you claim, but it brings an interesting thought to the table. If it were true, Cain would be the likely GOP target because he’s Black. 1) They’re taking down their own Black and don’t want another viable one from the opposition; 2) They don’t want a Black GOP candidate to go against their new White candidate who replaced their failed Black. Intriguing thought, but I’ll take it with salt...

That truly nails it it one little sentence.

How unfortunate is it that POTUS, or any elected office for the matter is viewed as a prize rather than a call of duty and/or sacrifice.

George Washington must be spinning in his grave.

How will they be able to prove anything? We can’t even prove Obama is not a natural born citizen (Even though we know his father was never a u.s. citizen. How about fast and furious? Records sealed? yep. What about Obamas past? Records of any kind? anywhere? Nope. Sealed. Has anyone been able to prove anything about any of them? Didn’t think so. These guys are soooooo slimy, nothing sticks to them.

“Cain’s people’s accusations against Perry and his people with absolutely no proof are not helping Cain’s cause.”

I agree. I DO believe that Mr. Cain is being attacked with complete lies....but I find it hard to believe that Perry’s campaign has anything to do with it.

Rahm Emmanuel....another thing entirely. I still need some proof....but I would not be at all surprised.

Just because it seems like paranoia doesn’t mean the reason behind it is a phantom.

I suspect that Gov.Perry and Mr.Cain have had previous encounters, er, head-butting sessions. Remember - Perry has been Governor of Texas for quite a while and Herman Cain was a business CEO and industry leader, and both are Republicans. People in those positions probably had reasons to meet and interact.

It has been very apparent that Herman Cain doesn’t trust the Governor of Texas. Are personal reasons involved? Perhaps. There may even be folks here at FR who are in on the know and can shed some light on this?
