MILAN TOWNSHIP — Former Highway Patrol trooper Eric Wlodarsky pleaded no contest on Monday to charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and was found guilty in Erie County Municpal Court, according to court records.

Wlodarsky was sentenced to one year of a probation, a six-month driver’s license suspension, $550 in fines, and must attend a driver intervention course. Charges of having a weapon while intoxicated were dropped during the hearing.

Wlodarsky, 33, was charged for drunk driving on Oct. 30 after he drove a pickup truck off the road while heading southbound on SR 13 and struck a tree, according to Erie County Sheriff’s Capt. Paul Sigsworth.

Sheriff’s deputies found a loaded Glock pistol in the truck at the time of the crash. Wlodarsky and a female passenger also in the truck were not injured in the crash.

Eric E. Wlodarsky, a trooper with the Milan post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, first made headlines three years ago for taking a picture of a fellow trooper dressed in Ku Klux Klan-like garb while on duty the day before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Two sets of rules, two sets of enforcement, two sets of punishment.

I have lost all respect for law enforcement, all faith in the judiciary, and what was once a mild disdain for politicians enacting this crap has turned to hatred.

This happens time and time again. Meanwhile, the rest of us have to put up with these unconstitutional roadblocks and a lot of other bullcrap.

I've been 100 percent pro-law enforcement always...Until about 5 years ago...I still have respect, but the respect has been reduced dramatically. This is due to several events I know of personally, that never made the news, and a few that did.

Unfortunately, law enforcement in the U.S. today, is not the law enforcement our parents and grandparents were accustomed to.

No, there are only those two types.

The bad cops stay on the job because the so-called, 'truthful, honest' cops are either involved or they look the other way.
