You have to turn off the magnets that are drawing the illegals here in the first place. Threats of imprisonment or deportation aren't going to scare them off. They've been laughing at those empty threats for over 30 years, and getting away with it.
We have to STOP giving them state and federal welfare benefits, and PREVENT them from working, by mandating the use of the E-Verify system.
That is the SIMPLICITY of the solution. As long as they can find food, shelter, medical assistance, and jobs in this country, THEY WILL COME, AND THEY WILL STAY.
The first candidate that gets a grip on this fundamental aspect of the illegal immigration problem, and makes it the central plank of their solution to the problem, will shoot to the top of the polls.
