"Forgive me for asking a slightly off-topic — but related — question. Is it true that some medical schools force medical students to attend an abortion procedure in order to graduate, with no conscience exemption allowed?"

I don't know. Hocndoc? Anybody?

I believe that the official stance is that it’s illegal due to Federal Law to force any medical student or resident to perform abortion. However, there are pressures.
I’ve been out for 20 years, but I hear stories about would be 0b/Gyns who can’t get a residency slot because they’re prolife. There’s at least one New York Family Practice residency program that offers a “fellowship” - extra training after finishing residency - in “reproductive medicine. Essentially, they run an abortion clinic.

Prolife faculty members have told me they make a point of mentoring students. There’s the American Association of Prolife OB/Gyns http://www.aaplog.org/ and the Christian Medical Association http://www.cmda.org/wcm/
We give students a community as well as support prolife views.

You can help by posting your support by donating to either of these organizations and/or by following Freedom2Care at their blog http://freedom2care.blogspot.com/ and/or on FaceBook.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Freedom2Care/157292405467 Freedom2Care is specifically to fight the conscience limits in Obamacare and any national health program.
