In breaking news this afternoon, a Georgia woman is claiming that she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain. She says she has documents (whatever they might be) which can back it up. In what can only be described as the guiltiest-looking no-comment statement in the history of politics, Cain’s lawyer offered this absurd response (especially hilarious parts in bold):

One of two things is true about this statement. Either Mr. Cain and his attorney are basing their views on what is an appropriate subject of media scrutiny for political candidates on the way politics work on another planet (perhaps another galaxy, even), or they are basically trying to telegraph to us that he completely did it. After following Cain’s campaign for the last several months, I would say either is equally likely. After all, basically the only reason a Presidential candidate would take a principled stand against admitting or denying that they had a multi-year affair on the woman to whom they are still married is if they have some principled objection to lying about having completely done it. And if that wasn’t the intended message, then Cain’s communications operation is even worse than we thought – which is really saying something.

I do. I’m tired of watching this parade of midgets go through the White House doors. I guess what I was saying is I never led a double life and I wouldn’t expect a man I would vote for to do so either. And Herm, just like our friend in the WH, has had a serious double life we don’t know about, one way or the other. When you get to ho #4, there’s something skanky going on that I don’t want my man to have had any part of, cause it ain’t all made up, is it?. And if it is made up, there has to be room to build it in.
That would be a good, principled position, if we thought that it was absolutely no business of ours whether Bill Clinton had slept with Jennifer Flowers, or had sex with Monica Lewinsky.

I think his statement was directed at the serial female abuse in the race, who long was newt messing around on his first wife and with how many, and how many. On his second wife and how many on the current trophy piece. Etc.

That is the problem with the media they want to be come the story and are all self proclaimed experts and TOOLS like TBBT are their lapdogs..
If the media hounds you like they did her, why not say “We are or were just friends.” and leave it at that? If not for the sake of your own self respect, then at least for the sake of Cain’s wife and kids!! The media obviously cannot prove there was an affair unless they are in the bedroom at the time. Everything else may look suspicious but the weight of proof lies with the accusers. This woman gave more info than was necessary and that is why I feel something stinks about this. She could be one of those needy people who seek advice and help from the pastor and he became her friend and was concerned if she had kids. Also, I believe Cain’s wife would have been onto him if he were having an affair for 13 yrs. as she is one sharp woman.
TBBT this should make you want to support Cain. Be proud of your candidate scream from the roof tops. Gingrich is a serial adulterer rock and roll..

One, you are asserting that he just now told his wife about her. I’m pretty sure she has known for quite some time. Releasing it publicly is not the same thing as telling your wife.
Two, there’s nothing indicating anything untoward.
