Not a surprise at all.

Newt is one of those ultimate insiders who think government should be more efficient and that there are government solutions to most problems.

“Gingrich supported Bush’s path to amnesty”
__________________________________________

I view this as a flawed statement.
There is no such thing as a path to amnesty, as in the path to citizenship, or a path to guest visas.
Amnesty implies that you need no path...You are already here
and can stay.

But there is no joy in Willardville – mighty Mittens has struck out.

Newt Gingrich Gets Big New Hampshire Endorsement Fox News – 3 minutes ago

AP Fox News has learned that former speaker of the US House and current GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will receive the coveted endorsement of the highly-influential New Hampshire newspaper “The Manchester Union Leader,” …

With Newt I am faced with a dilemma. I want to like him but he keeps making it difficult for me. It is clear to me that he is soft on illegal immigration. Also I once read a comparison of him with Bill Clinton, both policy wonks and bad managers.

But then I face the “on the other hand.” He has the best debating skills on the stage (as long as he controls himself.)
He is also the only candidate (as far as I can tell) who seems to have some passion about doing something about the judicial dictatorship that afflicts us.And he is the only one who has made an issue about the persecution of Christians in the Middle East. (The last Christian church in Afghanistan was demolished last year - under the “protection” of American troops.)

So I’m in a wait and see mode.

"President Bush has proposed a new legal path to work in the U.S. through a temporary worker program that will match willing workers with willing employers," Gingrich wrote, along with 14 other co-authors. They added that "the president has shown courage by calling on Congress to place reality over rhetoric and recognize that those already working here outside the law are unlikely to leave."

Why would anyone support amnesty?

It was the Reagan amnesty for 6 million illegals that got us the 20+ million we have now.

Do we want to commit national suicide?

No nation has ever deliberately given up its culture, traditions, and demographics. Are we the dumbest nation ever or what?

This will make no difference to the Newtbots. If newt came out and stated he was in favor of giving all illegals $110K jobs and waterfront houses for free, most newtbots would try and twist it into a conservative position.

The problem with this is that Newt is terminally infected with Beltway Fever, a Washington insider, used to making all sorts of deals, a policy wonk (like Clinton), happy to sit down with Nutzi Pelosi and 'agree' on (laugh-chuckle-snort) 'global warming', a President Gingrich will do exactly what a President John McCain would have done, and certainly what a President Mitt-Witt Romney would do, which is to unzip his fly, and piss all over the conservative base, once they had outlived their political usefulness.

We need a political Conan the Barbarian, a conservative outsider wielding a rhetorical sword to lop off the heads of the "business as usual" crowd, the 'Rats and RINOs who go through the motions of political disagreement for the benefit of the public eye, and then meet for their three-martini lunches where they make deals to cover their asses while screwing the public. That crap has got to cease. No more.

Sarah Palin could still be the answer to a deadlocked and fractured GOP convention, or failing that: she throws her support to Herman Cain who is as much of an outsider as one can be.

It amazes and puzzles me as to how many city councils, mayors, police departments, governors, presidents, judges, congressmen and senators, have colluded in protecting these foreign invaders.

The common link is in getting elected or re-elected and the unions. The unions are strongly pro-illegal alien, in fact they are pro-open borders and a one-world-government. They make no bones about it.

SNIPPET: “(CNSNews.com) – Andy Stern, the former head of the Service Employees International Union who now sits on President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, said the United States needs an economic plan that does not include “worshipping” the free market.
“America needs a 21st century economic plan because we now know the market-worshipping, privatizing, de-regulating, dehumanizing American financial plan has failed and should never be revived, worshipping the market again,” Stern said in remarks at the annual conference of the liberal activist group Campaign for America’s Future in Washington on Monday.
“It has failed America and everyone that works here,” Stern said.
Stern said the changes that Obama and Democrats in Congress have made are nothing short of a “revolution” that will move the American economy from national to international.”

Think about it for a moment, it’s not very hard. The unions need money to buy politicians. They have openly said they will select our Republican candidates.

When we allow illiterate peasants into our country, they need subsidies, they need government assistance. That government assistance comes with union government employees that are forced to pay dues to the unions.

Illegal immigration is a closely guarded secret, no one wants us to know how many there are. So we go to the elementary schools where they list races, English learners and free lunches. I use www.greatschools.org . My local schools is 100% Latino and English learners, all on free meals. They get fed breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus there is free baby sitting by SEIU employees.

IF Gingrich is selected as the Republican nominee for 2012, then we work as hard as we can to produce strong Republican majorities in both houses, filled with as many solid conservatives as possible.

Those House and Senate conservatives will have the opportunity to squash any amnesty or amnesty-light plans coming from the WH.

After all, even with all his faults, Gingrich is way better than Obama, remember.

It certainly does look like Republicans will have “manage” Newt if he became president, just as we had to “manage” Bush-43 with regard to Harriett Myers (sp.) and Amnesty.

I hated it then, and I’ll hate it now. It would certainly be nice, for once, to actually nominate a true conservative.

The story of American jobs and labor is deeply intertwined with predatory Federal, state and local taxation and regulation....

South Koreans sleep soundly on their border with NORKS because of American Taxpayer dollars and the American GI.

Why can’t Texans, New Mexicans, Arizonans and Californians?....BECAUSE

Illegal immigration is THE KEY to the perpetuation of the status quo in DC......

Predatory tax and regulatory policies-actions that basically serve to perpetuate and grow governments-leave what business is left in the country seeking disposable labor.

Illegal Labor is the Feds out for preserving the status quo regarding Taxes and Regulation. Interestingly, that is WHY the Feds encourage in-state tuition etc for illegals under-the-table -their presence providing disposable labor allows Federal, State and local regulatory and tax excess in the status quo to continue

Immigration is the ultimate litmus test as to the candidates in question commitment to meaningful regulatory and tax reform. If they are wishy-washy on the subject...they have no real intent to disturb the DC status quo...

Real ”leadership” is that which will place Flyover Country’s interest ahead of the Feds....haven’t yet seen anything meaningful anywhere from anybody to indicate that might happen. We have just one more election cycle to make that happen via rule of law. Otherwise its the end of the run for America.

For those who constantly whine and go on about amnesty, for get about it.

You are doomed to disappointment. Two of your favorite concepts will never come about.

There will be no fence from sea to sea. It is expensive, impractical and ineffective

Your definition of amnesty is so broad as to be pretty much worthless. All the illegals presently here will never be permanently deported to never return...... it just isn’t going to happen.

The political problem is very large and complex. The simplistic solutions constantly dredged up and put forward are unworkable, inadequate and verge on stupidity. The problem is too large and complex.

Newt and others always preface any thoughts by indicating the first step is to enforce existing laws and secure the border. These statements are always ignored because sanctimony demands no amnesty. The fact that the process demanded is impossible carries no weight. The principle must prevail. No amnesty. All other courses be damned.

Newt brought the question forward just as Cain brought forward the question of taxes. the issue is on the table. There is long and broad discussion. Some refuse to listen and irrationally hold to their sanctimonious positions.

Let's form two lines so we know where each person stands.

LINE-1:

Everyone who was enraged by Bill Clinton’s statement “It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is", but still defends Newt because it depends on what the meaning of the word 'amnesty' is.

After all, if Newt doesn’t use the word 'amnesty' it’s not really amnesty - right?

LINE-2:

Everyone else.
