Ah, rather than address your own falsehoods, you turn my screen name into an insult and demand I show what candidate I am supporting.

I don't have a favorite at the moment, the field is wide open AFAIC. I do know Newt is at the bottom of my anti-Romney list (other than Huntsman and RuPaul). I will take him over Romney. But he is the worst choice on that list.

I have seen him embrace some of the worst of the last Bush Admin policies with his call for amnesty and then his abuse of clear language to pretend he wasn't calling for such. Just like Bush and McCain did.

And I have seen his supporters on FR attack his skeptics for daring to incorporate the sordid history of establishment GOP immigration reform and the cheap labor movement of the last 25 years into their opinion of Newt. One of the sorriest episodes in the annals of FR history. Topped off with your blatant attempt at revisionist history here.

Who in the hell is looking for a perfect candidate?

False premise, part of the set up to get conservatives to accept another nominee who doesn’t know the Constitution any better than he knows brain surgery.

Good vanity - it says all I’ve been trying to say in a single place.

I guess you glossed over this line:

a very complex problem that has been ignored by the last five Presidents.

Can you honestly say that line is accurate historically?

The “purists” (that will earn me more flaming) will kill us all.

Another thread on FR documents the history of Eisenhower cracking down on illegal immigration while fighting the corrupt interests that profit from such at the expense of working stiffs and taxpayers.

So if I am a purist for asking that we try to enforce existing laws before re-writing them in acknowledgement of defeat, all in the name of catering to the corrupt interests in both parties who have no interest in solving this problem, I am a purist.

Your purist schtick is a steaming pantload. But it's par for the course from the Newt supporters. It ain't even original, and for good reason. It's the same old crap served up every four years by the establishment GOP apologists on FR as they shill for the stuff we should be fighting against.

RE :"It sure is a tough call this time around. We may have to live with a Demorat majority Senate for a long time to come. Just that alone must be taken into consideration. "

One thing just dawned on me today. If a Republican beats Obama and takes office in 2013, the Democrats in the Senate will probably block tax cut extensions, and block removing the military cuts in the trigger and blame the Republican POTUS for them both. And no changes to any anti-poverty programs or entitlements in that trigger.

This is the Boehner deal that Democrats are realizing they got the best of, that Boehner said he got 95% of what he wanted.

Hardly a troll....a misinformed appeasing pseudo-conservative, but not a troll. We’ve heard these plaints before, last election....Vote for McCain or else......I voted for him but felt like I’d been buggered...we still got Obama....I am goddamned certain I won’t hold my nose again, espectially for an illegal alien amnesty appeaser that is pandering to those of us out there with a humane heart... NO EFFING WAY!

You don’t have to carpool them back. Just enforce the laws. Make sure NO ONE gets government payments, subidies, or assistance that is not a provable citizen. When they find out they cannot steal our wealth, they will leave. Look at Alabama.

That is about it. It is to easy to fall into the trap where one does not look at the whole forest's health and fixes one's gaze upon some half rotten tree stump.
The only way most of us might become partly content once again is to find a really solid conservative POTUS who stayed around for two terms with a newly minted solid conservative oriented Senate and House to back them up in many areas, come into existence. I just don't see that happening any time soon.
As long as the likes of Harry Reid and his close associates continue to have their way in the Senate, things will not go forward. Notice the fifteen bills that the House sent over to the Senate are still sitting there.

Good post. I agree completely. We may not all agree on the same candidate at this time but after the primaries we half to hang tough.

There is no perfect candidate, never will be. In the huge open world we now live in anyone can say anything, about someone and no one fact checks or even cares.
