Should he lose, he’ll have a month to figure out how to not leave - with the best resources on the planet at his fingertips and command.

But I don’t think he will lose. Add up his gratings spending, and you’ll find a tiny fraction, like 0.02%, of it getting kicked back to the re election fund means he will have a billion dollar war chest. Big money wins elections.

And, to your point, big money losing elections figures out how to stay.

To use a “football”, a second official must confirm that the order is valid.

He can't order the elections to be cancelled - that's a state affair - and he can't declare martial law.

What can he do but sulk?
