The mere fact that the producers would avoid a real adversary, like China, in the interests of making money, tells me all I need to know about them and the movie.Do you remember The Sum of All Fears?
Never have seen it, but I really enjoyed the Clancy book.

Right. I enjoyed The Sum of All Fears as originally written, but the movie stank.
