Circular logic. You establish a definition and then exclude those who don’t fit that definition. But this fails to establish your point. If I can find 100 Muslims who are honest citizens and faithful Americans, you can’t simply say they aren’t good Muslims.
Except I didn't establish the definition. The definition was established by thousands of religious authorities and documents relating to Islam.
If the Pope and entire religious hierarchy of the Catholic church says that abortion is a sin, and they back it up with scriptural references that appear to any intelligent observer to say the same, then some one who is pro-abortion cannot be considered an "observant" Catholic. They can say they are, but they are not, by any objective definition. Ditto that in spades for muslims...
I'm sorry, but the modern liberal mantra of "self-identification" doesn't fly here on Free Republic. You can "self-identify" as a girl if you are born a boy... but you've still got a Y chromosome. Either you fit the criteria, or not. Either you follow the Quran (in all its malevolence), or not. Eventually, everyone has to choose whether they are something, and face the consequences of those decisions, or they must reject them. Your "moderate" Muslim friends can only be moderate because they live in the western world. Once the critical mass is reached and Sharia is established, they'll be happily burning you at the stake (or on the stake next to you)...
Maybe, but the point is you simply can't say how long they will appear to be honest and faithful Americans. Deception is more likely than not on their part toward you since you apparently are not muslim.
