"US Candidate Gingrich, For The Regularization of Immigration Status for Millions" (El Molino)

(ENGLISH TRANSLATION): US Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich, Republican, For The Regularization of Immigration Status for Millions" In the Al Momento Noticias by El Molino - 11/23/2011 8:36 AM

Two things became clear after the conclusion of the eleventh televised debate of Republican candidates, that Newt Gingrich is emerging in the polls, Mitt Romney moving to, and that he understands the importance of the Latino vote in United States to reach the White House in 2012.

Last night, risking the wrath of the Tea Party rightwing who have set the tone on immigration in the debates, Gingrich took a position which he described as "humanitarian."

We reproduce his words, that rule this time there were the boos he received when Rick Perry also said many Republicans "have no heart" on the issue of immigration.

I do not understand how the party that claims to be the party of the family can take a position on immigration that destroys families who have been here a quarter century. And I'm prepared to accept criticism by saying, 'we are human to implement the law without giving them citizenship but finding a way to create no separate legal status for their families.' "

"I do not think that the people of United States going to take people who have been here a quarter century, who have children and grandchildren, who are part of the community who may have done something 25 years ago, separated from their families and drive them away.

"If you came recently, and you have no roots in this country, then you must go. But here is the point. But let's say the person has been here 25 years, has three children, two grandchildren, pays taxes, respects the law, is part of a local church - I do not think they're were are going to split up, cut and eject such a family.

"The Krieble Foundation has a magnificent red card program that says it can be legalized without being a path to citizenship. So we managed to have a country where there is no illegality, without any amnesty given automatically to anyone. "

Later Gingrich said:

"I want to tell the people, 'go home'. I want to create a border controlled. I want a guest worker program that can manage American Express, Visa or Mastercard. I want to make English the official language of government. I am willing to be rigid. But I will not pull on somebody's hair and tease them. And I can not imagine any serious person in this country who believes that we must destroy families who have been here 20 or 25 years."

Newt Gingrich has spoken in favor of some aspects of the DREAM Act, which would give citizenship to people who came to the United States without documentation of children.

Were Gingrich to get the Republican nomination, this new political perspective poses serious problems for the reelection of President Barack Obama not long ago who said his "strategy" is to get the Latino vote would only reproduce extracts from comments of the Republican candidates on immigration.

You apparently don’t understand that someone must be held accountable to the law as it existed at the time they acted.

Nobody is talking about people who came here legally under the existing migrant worker program. Nobody is talking about people who come here under an expanded migrant worker program. Nobody is talking about people who go home and then come back after waiting their turn and being accepted and legally registered under some legal worker program.

We are talking about people ALREADY HERE who came here ILLEGALLY, but now being allowed to stay under some legal worker program. They would be taken from an ILLEGAL status to a LEGAL status. They have broken the law, acknowledge they’ve broken the law, yet will not be held accountable under that law. That is what Newt proposes. That is unquestionably AMNESTY.

I wasn’t going to post further on this thread. However, you called wardaddy an amnesty supporter.

Are you totally unaware that, in the past, he was banned for well over a year because some harpies didn’t like his opposition to amnesty? This forum was full of those who supported amnesty because it was Bush’s stance on the subject.

Bush bots...remember them? Maybe you were one...

Bush’s comprehensive immigration plan was amnesty. Newt’s is not.

BTW...you are a girly man in that you behaved as the not lamented late harpies did. You tried to intimidate me by linking to JR, but you didn’t ping him. You didn’t intimidate me then, and you don’t intimidate me now.

I pinged JR because you provided the link to a post of his to let me know you thought me to be a troll, and it’s only polite forum etiquette to ping those to whom one is referring.

That, and you said I was being “disingenuous.” IOW, a liar.

Frankly, both instances are personal attacks.

I can hear the sounds of cheap backpacks zipping shut all over central America as they pack for their trip to el Norte.

What about a “path to normalcy” for car thieves who haven’t been caught in 15 years? We don’t want to separate them from their families.

Newt is thinking out of the box on this issue.

He is defining different categories of illegals, and his program would not provide any of them with amnesty.

None of the illegals would be made citizens, unless they go back to their country of origin, and go through all of the hoops necessary to become citizens.

The argument has changed, but apparently not with some here.

Are you calling LEGAL migrant workers slaves?

Lordy! That shows your ignorance!

Migrant workers don’t want to become citizens, and they don’t want to live off of our society. They want to “pay their own way”, so to speak.

They pass tests to be able to come here LEGALLY to work the fields, and then go home.

Unlike most illegals who are taking their hard earned jobs.

It’s not “papered over” as legal. It IS legal, and has been for many decades.

You really are dense.

It's not that I give a rat's behind how often you make a fool of yourself over your obvious misunderstanding of the reason I posted that link and quote but I will tell you one more time. I posted that link and quote to show what I believed was Jim saying he did not approve of the pro-amnesty crowd pushing amnesty at FR. What would you have me do, delete the part wherein he said troll? Sorry, but to quote someone means to quote them with the quote as is, not to cheery pick the part I want and delete others.

You have now been told twice why I provided that quote. If you continue saying I called you troll you will be lying.

I love Michele, but she’s had qualifiers in the past on her own stance on illegal immigration.

“When asked what exactly she would do facing a similar scenario, Bachmann dodged the question (twice, actually). She was then shown a clip of her answer in a September GOP debate in which she was asked what she would do with the 11 million illegal immigrants in America. Two months ago she said, “That’s right. And again, it is sequential, and it depends upon where they live, how long they have been here, if they have a criminal record. All of those things have to be taken into place.”

“...his program would not provide any of them with amnesty...”

Are you trying to redefine the English language ? “Amnesty” is clearly defined.
[amnesty - a warrant granting release from punishment for an offense. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/amnesty]

The offense has already occurred based on the law already in effect. “his program” would release these offenders from the punishment prescribed under the current law — deportation — and grant them a new legal resident status. Playing semantics is not an admirable trait in a politician. We ridiculed Clinton for for his “It depends on what your meaning of ‘is’ is.”

Just because something is legal, like abortion, doesn’t mean it is right or moral.

I don’t want them here basically for the following reasons, and this goes for the “legal” migrants:

1. They come here to steal us blind-— they ride the US gravy train with multiple identities which they buy for several thousand dollars each. Vote-crazed candidates do not directly address this outrage—— probably b/c migrants/illegals vote several times each, using forged and faked ID’s. - “... but Perry won’t touch it with a ten foot pole since he collapsed over his in-state tuition handouts. Neither can be trusted to do what’s necessary....... cut out ALL benefits.

2. They pocket all the US benefits they can get, and want to force their culture on the rest of us. NO candidate EVER questions their loyalties........and the threat this poses to US national security.

Do they really care about this country? Do they even understand this country beyond what they can GET from it. Read on.

DID PERRY MAKE A DEAL WITH LA RAZA to place Raza studies (Mexican-American studies) in Texas schools?

Raza studies have been taught in Arizona for a decade...... then they passed a law against it.... but it still goes on.

RAZA STUDIES One of the textbooks used is titled “Occupied America,” which was written by Rodolfo Acuña and includes a speech given by activist and university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez in which he says: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323). The book also talks about the need for Mexico to re-take seven states in the Southwestern United States.

The following rather shocking quotes are taken directly from Occupied America (pg. 167):

“Supporters would execute all White Males over age 16,” (also known as the Plan of San Diego).

“The Southwest would become a Chicano nation.”

In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce such polarizing beliefs in Latino children in traditional public schools, the organization known as La Raza operates 100 charter schools across the country.

The following is a select list of La Raza charter schools:

-La Academia Semillas del Pueblo (Los Angeles)

-Atzlan Academy (Tucson, AZ)

-Mexicayotl Academy (Nogales, AZ)

-The Dolores Huerta Prepatory High School (Pueblo, CO)

-Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School (St. Paul, MN)

In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given out to these charter schools in the form of U.S. Department of Education grants. These schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan, and even Aztec math.

You can call me ignorant, but I’m not stupid. Stupid people invite the craven into their homes and lives, only to be murdered.

Anyone who comes here legally to become a part of the United States, I welcome with open arms. To those who want to kill us, I will return the favor.
