He will be a fine President and I have no problem voting for him. The problem arises getting others to agree. His debate performance was good this week. It should have been to that level a couple months ago when people started to pay attention. If he had more time to craft defenses of his couple of stinker policies he had in TX and bullet point his vision of Americas future, he would be in great shape now.
With the moved up Primary and large field of candidates, the margin for error was razor thin. He should have taken every advantage to get ahead and that included getting in earlier to get the bugs out of his campaign. How else can you explain his massive drop in the polls and fundraising?
Perry has done just fine in the last 3 debates. Many believe the brain freeze was on purpose to get lots of face time on tv and show the public who Rick Perry is. It worked and he got what he wanted...tv face time. But it isn’t about debates it is about a record. Perry is the ONLY one who fills the bill on that one. He has an outstanding record...it’s about jobs and the economy. No one can match Rick Perry’s record.
I cannot explain that at all. But as for fund raising, Perry is okay there.
We’ve had one fad candidate after another rise to the top and then fall because they didn’t measure up.
A lot of us were for Palin and sure she would run. She didn’t.
A lot of her supporters flocked to Cain, only to fade away after it became pretty clear that he has neither the knowledge or the experience.
Then it was Newt. I like Newt but he is will-o-the-wisp. Has a thousand ideas and goes from one to the other. He’s still my second favorite, but a lot of people absolutely hate any mention of citizenship for illegals. It really turned a lot of his supporters off. Not exactly fair, but it happened.
If Perry can make a good showing in a couple of the early primaries...
Well, we’ll see. He’s the best person in the field.
