To: dragnet2; shield; Lazlo in PA

I don’t believe that the forgetful moment was on purpose or that he got into the race “to be sly.” I truly believe he’s an honest man who didn’t decide until after the “I’ll think about it!” after being pressed the 10,000th time in May and he got caught up in the moment at the debate.

Most everyone who knows strategy says it was on purpose. It's compared to how GHWB did with the Sept 7th supposed mistake saying it was Pearl Harbor day. It was done to take the heat off Quayle.

Now I think Perry is too honest also. However, if you look at what came of it then you have to regress and say...well, it may be true. He was on tv shows all day long, changing the image of mean ole' Perry to very human Perry. People looked at his outstanding crisis management abilities. He really got the sympathy of his fellow debaters and made several good friends out of it. IF that is an outcome of a brain freeze then great however that is not what people who study this say.
