No need to flame.

You just flamed yourself. And in front of so many people.

I am truly embarrassed for you.

American citizen children can live overseas with their deported parents. Happens all the time, though not often enough.

No one can legally stay indefintely on a visitors visa. (Unless of course some aging doper like Obama lets them.)

That is fair (your idea). Most nations would do that.

We Americans are not mean, but we are fair. At the utmost, WE MUST BE FAIR TO LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, many of whom went through HELL to get to the USA, while others get to just skate, and now a man who would be President puts his imprimatur on such a nonsensical, unworkable and UNJUST idea. Pathetic. Truly absolutely pathetic. One of the low points of Campaign 2012.

memo to y’all.
I pray your candidate does well in Iowa.

I’d like to see Newt beat Romney in New Hampshire.

Bachmann, Perry, Cain: in the real world, they have no campaign in New Hampshire and their support is reduced to their core supporters which is usually not enough to get out of single digits.

The expectation right now in NH, order of finish:
1. MITT
2. NEWT
3. ronPaul
4. Huntsman
5. & 6. Michele & Cain
7. Perry
8. Santorum beats out Johnson & Roemer.

It is very difficult (impossible) to convince volunteers to campaign for somebody who is in single digits 47 days before the primary.

Twelve million is,in my estimation, a very low estimate. And AMNESTY has always contained a provision for two or three generations to tag along. So, go with Newt if you want. Or any of those others that advocate it. But remember how many of these people celebrate Cinco Demayo over Independence Day.

I happen to agree with you. Illegal immigration is a hot button issue with me, but the “Operation Wetback” of the 1950’s will not fly in today’s p.c. world.

Heck, farm lands are shut down for tiny fish and oil well drilling areas shut down for for tiny lizards. I really don’t see support for mass deportation of people.

I think that a compromise might work. Not blanket amnesty.

The border has to be secured in a logical manner. No more anchor babies. No more public assistance. Self deportation will happen, imho.

Newt has a long string of baggage like a freight train. From individual mandate, Dede Scozzafava, “conservative social engineering”, House Bank, not wanting to give up his mandate, Freddie Mac’s millions (worked an hour a month?) etc etc.

Newt is not the man.

Where was Newt when Perry made pro-illegal immigrant mumblings and his poll numbers went into the sewer? Apparently, he didn’t get that little memo from advisers.

Believe me, Newt's crack wonk team is in full battle dress mode for this one, and will have some clever damage control narrative dusted off and pushed out there by the Talk Show Talking Heads (Laura, Sean, Michael (Medved), maybe Rush), by Monday afternoon, to stop the bedrock conservative electoral hemmorage this thing is guaranteed to bring about. There goes their Thanksgiving Day Holidays. Sucks to be them. Can't say it could happen to a nicer candidate though. What a sneaky fraud. Courage, my arse. Idiotic!

She is a decent person, with a good voting record, and the treatment she got from NBC was absolutely atrocious (Fallon Show)!!

What Gingrich said is a deal-breaker. I could hold my nose and really overlook a lot of other things but not this one. He has lost my vote.?

Hopefully we won't need your vote.

That’s what the secret, non-descript basement boiler rooms (phone banks) 24/7 at remote locations around the countryare for, each week targetting the next primary or caucus state. Not everything that is out there “meets the eye” so to speak. The nature of the ground game has changed with technology. ;-)

peeples in NH do not answer their phone in the final 2 weeks. Gotta have an organization.

I guess if these phone banks can jigger things so they have a 603 NH area code for caller ID, that would help.

You know, I’ve always like Newt. But, I’m just fascinated with the politics here- why would he make this an issue now when he was pulling away?

It reminded me of his book deal in 1994- He beats Wright like a rented mule over Wright’s book deal, and then, as soon as Newt becomes speaker, he signs a multi-million $ book deal?????????

Politically, I didn’t understand that- and now I don’t understand this-—

if they don’t they are put in jail for life.

11 million * $45,000/yr = Half a trillion Dollars for just one year's incarceration. Don't think that's going to happen.

Why do you call Newt an supporter of open borders?

He has said the borders have to be controlled, that it’s a national security imperative.

Agreed. If he gets the nomination, get ready for the MSM to unload the 200 lbs of baggage he has and watch him sink. It doesn’t help he has positions nearly identical with Obama’s.

He supports amnesty and anchor babies should be US citizens. If that’s not an Open Borders Republican, I don’t know who would be one. And no one is talking of cracking down on illegal immigration and securing our borders. That’s what is missing from the political debate.
