I once talked to a reporter after I witnessed a truck run into a parked VW van on Interstate 5. I said that there was a loud crash as the truck pushed the van down the freeway, both enclosed in a "ball of flames". The newspaper reported my name as "John" and quoted me as saying that I saw "great balls of fire". I got the impression that the reporter was drunk.
