A collapse of society could occur in a financial/economic collapse. If supermarkets are looted then there won’t be much food left for everyone else. EMP/Nuclear attacks are not the only threat.

....anybody ever see that Farside cartoon where the mob is heading one way with torches and pitch forks and one of them has a bubble thought going upward of a kiosk market table with a sign poted on it “Torches x dollars, pitch forks y dollars”.

I tend to agree with you. Here in Florida we’ve seen supermarkets stripped bare during hurricane season - in an economic collapse, not sure when or if they’d be restocked. People in the Soviet Union dealt with this reality for decades. We now have to hitch a ride with them into space. I don’t think it’s out of the question we could see a break down in our food supply if the economy collapses.
